  1. I would like to join... Don't mind where, Cavs been promising me a ride for months now....
  2. You are just a grumpy SS rider, what are you doing trawling the classified in any case?
  3. You should go for a night ride, and film it using an infra-red camera, maybe there is more to this than we might imagine... evil spirits might be at play here...
  4. Good luck if you are looking for a Scott MTB. Stock issues are almost ALWAYS a problem with them. Endless promises and missed arrival times made me promise myself to NEVER EVER buy a local SCOTT bike again. I would however suggest Cycle Tech, Kyalami, Gauteng
  5. I think you might have the incorrect information. The Easton wheels come in two different hub versions, you get the 10x135 (standard QR) and then you get the 12x135/12x142-millimeter. For the 12x135/12x142-millimeter version, it comes standard out the box configured with end caps for 142mm, and a spare set of caps to convert down to 12x135. If you have the normal QR version you cannot convert it to 12x142. If this is the set you ordered from CRC, They only had 12x 135/142 in stock - then you don't have to do anything, it's all ready to GO!!! PS> The 142 axle usually comes with the frame or you have to buy it yourself, it's not ever included with any wheels. ** I take it you got CRC to change it from 26 to 29 for you
  6. Bwahaha, damn...yeah the jokes on me huh?, never thought of that! It's about time to add a decent roadbike to my collection....
  7. Most FD's these days come with spacers to cover a range of options but this frame is 34.9
  8. You need a top swing, top pull, I used an XX
  9. Have a pair for you... grey or black?

  11. I use 3M Scotchgard in rolls, works the best, expensive, but compared to most kits its cheaper.

  15. Build completed, bleeding R1's an absolute pleasure.... spent ALOT of time getting the cable routing and especially hose/cable lengths absolutely right.... Put some protective tape down on strategic spots, this made me realize how the raw finish would be ABSOLUTELY REALLY HOT with a clear coat, so much so that I am still contemplating getting it done... What was more astounding is the build weight, as in the pictures its 10.705 complete. I swopped the wheels with my BigTop ones, which are exactly the same, but have maxxis and an XTR cassette, drops weight to 10.550, I'm convinced with something as small as a lighter chain I can get to below 10.5 easy... No ride yet, will have to wait until the weekend....
  16. It's getting better, but it's not purrrrrrrfect yet... Next time i'm in Cpt im going to stop by there and showdem cwc boyz some cable/hose routing trix.
  17. That's total BS - because deore does not come in 2x10. That is a 3x10 mech, and should work perfectly, and as JB said already, the correct spacing is 1mm-2mm, not 3 or 10mm. Name the LBS's you are talking about?
  18. Awesome
  19. Won't work, you will need carbon assembly paste... Or use some toothpaste with the granules in it.
  20. Okay, this build turned out ALOT hotter than I ever imagined, and I'm an opinionated son of a beach totally biased to another brand, so it's a bitter pill for me to swallow.... I will take some better pics in the daylight with a real camera, for now some mobile phone pics... I'm also totally sold on the 2012 R1 brakeset with Matchmaker upgrade. Total weight is 10.705kg's - FULL BIKE, race ready!!!!!!
  21. I have a few... 1. Anyone who buys a Spez period. 2. Bar Ends 3. With first MTB, buys a lycra LBS outfit
  22. I thought I was building it for you.... invoice is in the mail!
  23. Yes, full bike, also surprized, however XX, R1, Easton Carbon.... Can't get much better... Will post full details and pics later when she's done.
  24. Ok... quick teaser.. 1,. Let me show you guys proper cable/hose routing. 2,. Weight is impressive, really impressive.... i'm impressed with the weight... wow... and it has 6 full cups of stans in it too!!!!
