  3. Wow, that's an awesome build... seatpost looks familiar Shame on you for the bar-ends though, not cool... May you have many happy km's on it!!!!! Still waiting for my Zero29 to arrive, had issues with the snow apparently.. where did you get yours from again?
  4. Meentb, I'd agree with the rest of the comments, keep what you have in terms of groupset, but maybe upgrade the seatpost, stem and bars For fun, weight and LOOKS.
  5. ....
  6. Now... Imagine your new bathroom has been put together with a multi-tool and your toilet has been connected to the hot water supply...now, that would almost be as bad as the cable/hose routing on this bike...
  7. Then future Pieter, I say congratulations on your new bike!!!
  8. Tx, guys from designinmotion cycles did confirm with me earlier today.... Going with XTR Top Swing 2x10 Speed FD-M985
  9. It's just not right... it's wrong.... it's terrible... frikken amateur... makes me peeved off.... cables crossing over eachother... it's untidy, it wont last, and it will rattle the bejezuz out of you. FIX IT PLEASE... I wont sleep until I know its right.
  10. Who built it? Please tell them they must take a lesson on cable routing... that's a really !@#$%^& job, shifter cables/brake hose should loop around the headtube.
  11. Zero29 FD type, same as OneTen Direct mount?

    Yeti bikes

You never ask what a Yeti weighs, that's just disgusting, LOL It's like saying you are going to buy a Morewood because you like the paint jobs they have...( ) Maybe that's why the Pyga's will be raw

    Yeti bikes

what's going on here? amoryns, did you really just ask for a verdict on a Yeti bicycle? LOL, if you have to ask then you DO NOT deserve one, go buy a cannondale, scott or spez...
  18. Just buy a new one, it's a consumable item, it has clearly given you good service!!!
  19. the only problem with X0 is avid brakes. Orderec some ZEE's for my 66, dying to try them.
  20. Lastly, forget about stage races for the first year, they are expensive and you will need a partner, rather invest time, energy and money into getting to grips with the sport in terms of gear and tech skills. Ride as many one day races as possible, start with some shorter ones and build up, they are fun and you will meet riders. R40k is what you need for race ready competative bike and gear such as shoes, lid, clothing, etc
  21. In terms of getting fit, get a garmin and join strava, it will make you want to ride
  22. If you are as competative as you say, you wont be happy with a 20k machine. You should get a 29er HT, because it will be light, and it will be most familiar to your road background in terms of performance and power transfer. You might as well invest in a decent bike upfront, otherwise you will fall into the always upgrading pit. Or worse, end up selling the bike at a loss. Pyga, Scott or Spez are some decent options. Groupset should be nothing but Shimano XT, spend extra bucks on frame, wheels or forks.
  23. Just built a Yeti BigTop, done 25km on it only. Have ordered the Pyga HT, plan to build it up same spec and compare the two.... Will keep my favourite one, other one will be converted to SS or Sold. I have my reservations, somewhat biased towards Yeti. First thing I'm doing is taking actual frame weight, always sceptical about press claims. The only reason I am buying the Pyga is because it looked super awesome, saw it at the first Thaba Toughee race.

  25. Can't wait to see your bike!!! Gonna be awesome...
