  1. Are you sure you ran the same route... I mean if you were still oiled you might have taken another route... or maybe you were wearing two different shoes? maybe it was the temp. or the wind, or something you ate. or stress... not scientific at all?
  2. bwhaha... i was also thinking that... i heard "they" say it's not gay if it only happens once a year on the AplezDuHuez. whatever happens in andy's camp ontop of the duhuez stays on the duhuez... until the next year of course.
  3. fixed.
  4. nice
  5. It could have been worse, you could have paid 3x as much for XX World Cups....and still had the same *** brakes....
  6. Just get one of these, and you'll never be sorry:
  7. hahaha, poor dassie's... such a hard life laying on rocks in the sun all day, every now and then having to duck for mtbiker.... biggest news in dassie land is always about the ones "who had enough" with the dassie life, and jumping into ben's line...
  8. Yes, looks like it could be from pretoria?
  9. I'm sure they had ulterior motives... let me try to explain it in a poem: There are things that we don't want to accept, but have to accept Things we don't want to know, but have to learn brakes we can't live without, but have to let go braking isn't about finding Avid's you can live with It's about finding Brakes you can't live without Shimano XT
  10. You have no clue what you are talking about, if you buy an Epic you will just be wasting your time and money. Saying that the Epic gives you the most confidence you have ever had on a bike is just the placebo/marketing effect of the Spez brand. The Epic is not supposed to make you confident technically, the Epic is built to make you fast and efficient. Face+Palm If you said the Epic increased your times and you went faster than usual then yes, it would have made some sense. You contradict yourself so badly - Nimble, HT, Plush, Brain = Confidence???? The Epic is supposed to give you performance... Oh man, some people just cannot be helped.
  11. Now you are just getting silly and being stupid by bringing the Camber into the discussion, really!?!?! 1. Do you want a full suspension race bike, one which you are going to ride at your speed/distance limits, and be competitive as you can be. With training plans and goals. = Epic 29er 2. Do you want an all-day, every day, fun and capable bike which you can take out on any day or any "event" (not race) and have loads of fun, building your technical skills and riding the crap out of it, but for fun = STUMPY FSR Make up you mind and take it from there.
  12. Wow, that is on sick machine!!! love the colour.
  13. I'd invest in a new 2012 SLX or XT if I was you. I have 2012 XX World Cups and they suck compared to SLX/XT, so I can only imagine how bad the 3's must be! Sorry for being the bearer of bad news, don't think your Elixir3's will ever compare to your old Magura'a even.
  14. Deity decals look Shexy.....
  15. Hi there! You can't really compare the two, man... they are so different... almost like comparing an M5 to an X5... or A7 to Q7... In my opinion, way too many south aftican's ride Epics, we should actually see more people go for the Stumpy.... But it's the spez effect, as soon as you can afford it you have to get the EPIC!!!!! because it's the #1 yuppy bike... For someone @ 90kg's, who likes to get a bit technical and have a lot of FUN, then the SJ FSR is the best option between the two. (Of course this opens a whole new can of worms because as soon as you decide that's the type of bike you want, then i'll start asking why not rather consider Santa Cruz, Yeti, Pivot, etc etc) But if you want a Spez, then the SJ FSR is awesome... you'll love it. As a last note... I think way more people will make the mistake and say "darn, I should have rather gotten the SJ FSR" as opposed to someone buying the SJ and saying" dammit.... I wish i took the Epic..."
  16. Looking really Good there Wes!!!!! what saddle is that on there now?
  17. Hahaha, don't be polite on the hub, someone will end up noticing and taking advantage of you!
  18. For electronics, components, parts, etc you just pay VAT and admin/clearing costs. Take the Item Price x Exchange Rate x 1.165 as a basic average cost estimator. If you are going to buy shoes or clothes, it goes to x 1.54 as you pay 45%+ and still vat and duties ontop. * Just a little tip, not many people know this, but if your order exceeds a value of R20k it will be stopped and you will need an importers code. Strictly speaking, if your orders in one year combined amount to R20,000 you will also need a code.
  19. Yes, but answer my question, do you try fancy lines between rocks or do you take a straighter line over them?
  20. CWC apparently bought "some" Scott products directly from other sources vs. buying ONLY from the official Sole Importer&Distributor of the products in SA.
  21. This is nothing new or unique to Probike/CWC or even limited to the cycling industry... Most SA distributors want to operate @ 20-30% margins, and expect their dealers to pass this on to customers... When the dealer then add their 40-50% margin the end user price, things gets silly. What inevitably happens is that this then creates an unrealistic retail price... allowing for the opportunity of parallel imports or direct internet shopping... If distributors were making their 10-15% and retailers their 25-30% then there would be no room for this. However, distributors usually carry massive the risk (stock/exchange rates, etc), has to offer crazy credit terms to dealers, market and build the brands, and then also support the warranties and returns, manage stock, etc etc.... Dealers again dont forecast correctly, pay their accounts badly, dont invest in training or good sales people, and show very little commitment to the distributors... so it's a crazy chicken and egg thing...
  22. Wow, you both just insulted me... awesme> my yeti actually has 26" wheels, i just go so fast it makes them look beeeeg like 29ers.. Stretched> i dont drink pink drinks, neither do i wear geen jackets... got there just before 13:00, left at 14:30... Was sporting a white fox top with "green" socks tucked into my minnaars....
  23. Remember to pack some sarmies and take your passport!
