  1. Hey arendoog*, more talking about all mountain type riding, using-all mountain type bikes built specifically for this....

  5. Finally took the SB-66 to Reitvlei today... and served me-self some few 14km's of the blue route goodness... Ok reitvlei is SUPER ROCKY in some sections... especially the section of blue route winding up/over/down/around the main "mountain". I don't know how many people actually go up here? It's the section that hangs off to the left at the clearing by the old stables and winds up/down the mountain and then finally exits on the other side of the mountain at the back of the school... My question is, what's your strategy for super rocky sections, with millions of rocks of all sizes... Today I decided to try and pick a "straighter" line, and in the process just hitting some rocks head on, mostly aiming for the largest rocks and dropping off straight over them... this ends up being really fast, it's scary, but somehow I feel more confident to let go compared to weaving though the rocks.. I find that in tight, twisty and rocky sections you can easily stick your front wheel between two rocks, but then you inevitability end up dragging your back wheel over them in anycase because it's so tight and you have to steer into/out of corners? I personally find it much smoother just taking a straighter "more confrontational line" v.s avoiding the rock with my front wheel but then being forced into a line by waiting for my back wheel to clear too?
  6. A quick tip - place your order, then call them during business hours to follow up if all items are in stock and get an estimated shipping date from them. Not all items are stored in the same warehouse/locations, so sometimes this causes kuk and delays. Also, while you have them on the phone, especially if it's a big'ish order with many items, you can tell them to delete/remove all items on backorder or items that will delay your shipment. in that way you cut out the any "Lag" time of them trying to get hold of you, them wasting time trying to make a plan or taking their time.... Unless you want substitutes, etc. Also, the free shipping option is not always that great if you have to take the hit and miss gamble with the postoffice... if they get your duties calculated incorrectly you will NEVER get it sorted, and if they are on strike, which happens often then, well... your fooked. Rather club some orders together with mates, or just wait until you need enough items to make it worth paying for DHL. my 5cents... use it/ dont use it.

  23. ESPN Sport Science: Impact of Extreme Cold Weather on Athletic Performance Been doing some research on the subject: Maybe look at this yourself, it's really is interesting. Grip strength - reduced by 50% Reaction time - reduced by 45 % Equipment - also affected (PSI, Size, etc)
  24. A bit of extra biased discussion going on here... Clearly there are people making posts/comments based on either: 1. Their association with the Specialized brand (spotted some shop owners/suppliers/etc) obviously in favor of the "cover up" 2. Their association with Burry/Team (just as fans/supporters/etc) obviously in support, to be expected 3. Their association with the "losing team" (just as fans/supporters/etc) obviously in support, to be expected 4. Their association with the "Epic" body - obviously in support, to be expected 5. Some people who will always complain about everything/never happy, but to be expected At the end of it, the rules are rules, if he took the jacket, i think it should have received a penalty.... If the rules we to be open to interpretation, they would have made provision for it specifically to say, you can take a jacket or toilet paper for example.
