  1. Oh really? I'd be very interested to hear what the other shops have to say. How do you know that I don't know what happened? Which shop's server did you download the document from?
  2. Was it published to the public for public access, via a link freely available from their home page? If not, and assuming this site had various copyrights in place, there actually could be grounds to pursue action against this information being freely shared. It's cost collectively 3 bar damages. Many cyclist I know took this information as de facto evidence (as human nature seems to do to people). No need to aim rhetoric insults at me 'Willehond'.
  3. You must be lank proud of yourself man.
  4. Something doesn't smell right here at all. I have several businesses and have a good nose for these things. It just doesn't add up that these minutes get pulled from a bike shop's server and then get published, in turn, causing irreparable damage to the reputations and customer bases of bike shops. Just because he's a journalist doesn't mean he knows better. In this case he clearly didn't as the information was false, proved to be, and instead caused a lot of harm. If I was that bike store I know who I'd be going after.
  5. So basically, you are responsible for this mess then? Under what authority did you post it to the World on a forum? Did this website you got the information from have a privacy policy?
  6. Let me get this correct then. So it was YOU who posted these minutes in the first place?
  7. Frankly, when I read statements like this, it sucks any credibility out of your venture here. First off, people have b*tched and moaned on this site about LBS before it seems. Second, your statement is baseless. There are many shops doing great work. CWC for instance. Good prices, good service. I think that HelloPeter is nothing more than an extortion racket. A clever one, but extortion. Are you going to charge shops who've been named-and-shamed to comment and clear their names? See, it's all subjective. One guy has a great time at Revolution. I didn't. Does it make them good or bad then? Aslo, how does this website feel about someone punting another site on their site? Potentially diverting traffic. Soon you'll have your own forum up there too no?
  8. How's the scene down there? Lots of riders/trails etc?
  9. I think it needs to be seen. I've had several bad experiences with Revolution, the last of which I took R25k worth of business to another shop. It doesn't help to just have a blind rating system. You need to be able to see why the rock or suck. Kind of like the reviews on MTBR.
  10. Nice one. You got the 5.5 Can only imagine how stoked you're going to be on the trails this weekend. Enjoy
  11. haha, great example. That's the power of advertising.
  12. A little belated, but I must apologise for the heated tone in my topic starter. I got a real scare that day and hopefully this will keep the trails safer for everyone. It's good to see this didn't become an XC vs DH hate fest. I know I can't speak for everyone, but my mates and I certainly have nothing against any type of rider (except roadies, BMX'ers, fixies, M-uni crew and the worst of all the dastardly AM rider ) I'm glad we've all managed to work together and got this done. Pain or Shine, hope to meet you at the next trail building session. Whoever you are you seem like a cool guy. Respect.
  13. Then your friend cannot afford to own a Rolex. It's like buying a Ferarri and never driving it. These things are made to be used and enjoyed, and like a great wine, they get better with age. Your friend bought the Rolex to 'look' rich. Being rich and looking rich are not the same thing. Being rich you'd only want to wear the handstitched Italian shoes because the value of owning and using something exclusive has meaning personally. I know it doesn't seem to make sense, and humans are a strange species. Full of contradictions. Like if your estate agent pulls up in a Porsche you'd think he's ripping you off somewhere, but if he pulled up in a beat up old Jetta, you'd think he was bad at his job.
  14. Except that the fake Rolex has no actual value. One buys a Rolex as a timeless investment, with intrinsic value. It's a value created by our perceptions, since there is no such thing as actual 'worth' per se. I always use the example that if one showed a polar bear a handful of diamonds, or a handful of fish, which would have more value to him? Since we've created the value perception, based on many factors, it stands that a Rolex is worth much more than the sum of its parts. Buying a fake Rolex, and wearing it, is a mentality I don't understand. It shows a very shallow, confused individual.
  15. Until it's your company's product that is having its copyright infringed upon. Let's see how you'll feel when you've invested millions in product dev, marketing etc only to have some criminal ride that and undercut you. There is NOTHING good about fake merch. It's stealing. If you can't afford to buy a product, then you can't buy it.
  16. True. Personally I'd prefer to have poly around my noggin though. It's a great idea nonetheless.
  17. I don't agree with their concept. It might absorb 40% more impact in a lab, but this helmet looks more like the way that rock climbing helmets are designed. There's a space of air between the head and the shell. Cycling helmets are meant to break apart on impact. my 2c
  18. There should be a sticky for this site. Just had a look now and if advertised properly, could help curb this a bit. Interesting to not all the bikes on there are from Erasmia. Who do they sell the Raleighs to though?
  19. Just dropped R3,5k and it should be arriving by the weekend. If I were to add up and buy this all locally it'd be a lot more than what I paid for it. Most of all, half the stuff I can't even get here, and we're not talking specialty items either. It's things like Stans strips for 27mm rims, low pressure shock pumps etc. I'm about to build up another bike soon and I've got all of my parts already carted. Good old CRC
  20. That's excellent news Pain or Shine. Thanks for taking the time and putting in the effort to make this happen. In the long run it's going to prevent accidents and make everyone's lives much easier. So this will be for DH1, 2, 3 & Vasbyt then? Any chance you guys are considering some extra signage at the gate regarding this? Again, your efforts are hugely appreciated.
  21. I know, it's bleak friend. Hope you get sorted soon.
  22. Just take it back and have Mongoose send you a new frame. It's a pity this is 6 months old. The CPA protects consumers from exactly this sort of run around BS. RRR. Repair, Replace, Refund. No more 'voets toets'. If you are unhappy with your purchase (as you are) they are obligated to refund you. Have Omnico send the frame to Mongoose to be checked. They will most likely send you a new frame (assuming you are the original owner, since your purchase was made before the 1st of April, otherwise it becomes the shop's problem). I wouldn't ride that frame though.
  23. Absolutely agree with you on this issue.
