  1. aaaah this famous question again! I've been running a continental x-king and race king combo (both 2.2) with excellent results. only 1 puncture in the last six months, rolls like a dream, corners well, and they last. Bit more costly than maxxis, but i enjoy the ride! In real terms it comes down to preference, and dont try skimp on running cheap foldable tyres as tubeless unless you don't like your front teeth or collarbone!
  2. There is nothing wrong with Lycra...... as long as it is not white!
  3. I dont mind women in lycra....even when not "racing"
  4. nope...you're a DANGLE
  5. Their own blood......?
  6. The lycra clan might lose (if they are roadies) as the will start fighting with each other about who is fitter, faster, and dont forget heart rate
  7. "budgie smuglers" ??
  8. Is that R2499 or R24,999?
  9. I agree on the cost factor! Attending a race costs no less than R500 when I factor in petrol, entry fee and something to eat afterwards! I can't afford that every second weekend.
  10. Imho. The main reason I, like many others attend a mtb "race" is not to compete, but rather to ride somewhere you could not usually ride, spend a day with your mates, use it as an outing for the better halves and spend time outdoors. Its not about cadence, heart rate, check out my new kit, did you see my last 4 km sprint in 5 mins, my gps says we have an average speed of 32km/h so pick pick it up boys, it not to show off our freshly shaved legs and last but not least it not to have a chop measuring contests. So to sum it up, if we miss a race, we will go look for another dirt trail that will bring just as much joy and friendship!
  11. Don't forget the bell and reflectors!
  12. Happened to me once and it turned out to be a very small dent in the rim (almost invisible) and that was the weakest point of the seal......dont think I need to explain any further!
  13. Maybe some white stretchy pant to top it off?
  14. Just kidding! Congrats! hope you have many happy off road km Edit: spelling
  15. Missing a bell ?
  16. HAHAHA! Phones abroad are a lot cheaper than here, Now he wants to offer you an extra 2k to post it. People usually bargain down, not up! SCAM!
  17. Not too sure on cost and frame weight, but the entire bike weighs in at just under 13kg (not very accurate scale used) The handling is great, and the bike is very forgiving (haven't seen my @ss since Groot Marico Classic in August last year)
  18. I have a merida with alu frame. Also a 1-20 with most components upgraded as the original specs were a bit "lite" See attached pic.

  20. I started out with a hardtail which cost 4k and after the bug bit (budget breaker variety) I moved on to a dual sus which also required upgrades as I undershot there as well. It turns into a disease with the hub as your support structure and helpline! Good luck!
  21. Maybe they selling chinese rip-offs........?
  22. You keen to join? Thanks for the info!
  23. Is "hydro lick" when you and your chick are for like in the jakoozi at the oord and you...
  24. Merida 1-20 dual sus 120mm with a number of upgrades. Felt q920 hardtail (build in progress)
  25. Give SLUDGE a go. Just stay away from the bottle that says "roadies" on it. The dark grey one works like a bomb and doesn't seem to form clumps.
