  1. Mine are on but make zero reference to them. I use a priceless tool ... My brain!
  2. This is a new topic! Definitely gonna follow this!
  3. Aaah, I was a member of Fat Tracks back in 92 when I had my first MTB! Enjoy!
  4. With the long weekend approaching rapidly and with most of us travelling (hopefully with our bikes), it might be good to share our plans to possibly meet local hubbers or travelling hubbers for a ride. I'm in Groot Marico (North West) for the whole weekend . I know a few locals so have access to a few good farms. PM me if you in the area
  5. I was told by my lbs to over inflate new tubeless tyres for a few days say the can seat properly and also take their proper form! Worked for me on 2 occasions now.
  6. Gave them a couple of PKs! They were asking for it, so agreed, effective solution!
  7. Its the beer! I just can't stop the beer! So its pointless wasting my bucks on the bike to save a few grams here and there!
  8. Here my complete amateur advice: Go to dischem and a by biogen cytogen in either a R13 sachet or a R300 tub. Mix with 700mls water ( not 500 as indicated otherwise it is too sweet) and ride. When training I only use half a sachet and it works just fine. Cheapish and effective!
  9. @niner b I second that. Have to drop the kids off before riding.
  10. A quick hijack! I weigh in at 84 and I can never seem to get the balance rite on my neg and pos pressures on my SID. Always too hard and never seems to tame the smaller bumps! what is a good balance? I've set my sag to 20% and that meant nothing in the end!
  11. My chick weighs a lot more than 6 - 8kgs and doen't like waiting in the car
  12. I'm no expert, but here's my 50 cents worth: 1. Start to enjoy hills, don't go "ah ****" 2. When you put a hill behind you, feel good about your self 3. Make every hill count, granny gear will not necessarily make it easier next time 4. Do a proper hill session at least once per week!
  13. I live out of town, so I find it easier just to let the LBS do everything in case i uncover more worn parts than planned and most importantly... They have a torque tool! Save a buck or save your front teeth and collarbone?
  14. I think the OP needs a hug! I can't brag about figures like 30k but if you are so an*l on your first post, shame! Maybe the price tag is still on it?

  16. Vodoo I might be interested. Please send me a pm.
  17. aaaah this famous question again! I've been running a continental x-king and race king combo (both 2.2) with excellent results. only 1 puncture in the last six months, rolls like a dream, corners well, and they last. Bit more costly than maxxis, but i enjoy the ride! In real terms it comes down to preference, and dont try skimp on running cheap foldable tyres as tubeless unless you don't like your front teeth or collarbone!
  18. There is nothing wrong with Lycra...... as long as it is not white!
  19. I dont mind women in lycra....even when not "racing"
  20. The lycra clan might lose (if they are roadies) as the will start fighting with each other about who is fitter, faster, and dont forget heart rate
