  9. Yes, I know it sounds too good to be true, but i'm not paying in for once. What would you do? Blow it on you bike, or save it?
  10. Couldn't have said it better!
  11. sinful!
  12. I have posted a legit add with the correct wording to avoid future "upsets" like this. https://www.bikehub.co.za/index.php?app=hubmarket&module=core&do=view_item&item_id=10622
  13. Buy a bottle of hand sanitizer! I have one that lives on my desk! Every time someone shakes my hand or I have to use lifts, open high traffic doors, etc. I sanitize my hands when I return to the office. The whole of winter I was healthy except for this last weekend when I had mild flu which has already subsided! I know its a bit OCD, but it kept me on the trails the whole of winter!
  14. Thats always a plan!
  15. Great!, drop me a line closer to the time!
  16. I'm based at Sun City and ride about once or twice during the week and most weekends. If you are in the area and wish to join on one of these rides, drop me a pm. Route is about 40km
  17. Thnak you Peter, I have my cowboy days when I hammer it, and then sometimes I enjoy to take in the scenary. Are these also good in the wet, It rains at Sun icty sometimes too
  18. DO you use these? punctures etc.?
  19. Hi, Converting my Mavic 317 disks for tubeless, what tyres should I buy? I do plenty cross country and a fair amount of techinical. Thanks,
  20. Makes sense, but I guess it depends on whether you are a weekend warrior like myself or are riding competitively. I normally try climb hills in a hard gear, so when it counts, I drop into an easier gear and don't get even half as tired.
  21. when this problem started for me, I had already dropped from 180 to 160, and then I upgraded my brakes to XT and the bike shop dropped in metal pads. I asked if they put metal or resin in, and they said resin. When I took the brakes out to try sanding them, they turned out to be metal. So i ordered resin, and the problem stopped immediately!
  22. Folks - good news!!!! Metal pads suck!!!!!!!! I had a set of resin pads delivered, courtesy of one of the drivers at Sun City (Mpho T), and what a pleasure! Even braking and no noise or vibration! If you at Sun city this weekend and are keen for a beer, give me shout! Thanks to all who helped, and especially to Cassie for warning me about the evils of "devil metal pads" Cheers, Neil
  23. Sanding doesn't work! - i'm trying resin pads, then a smaller rotor.
  24. Okay! Well, sanding the pads didn't work, so next in line is to change the pads from metal to resin..... and if that doesn't work..... smaller rotor!
  25. Thanks King Crispy - hope they can have them to me by the weekend.
