Just push on the inner ring it will work. Have done that many times myself and that is what the lbs will do. There is no special tool to get that bearing out. Use a socket on the side you are pressing it from.

Those blades look fine still.

Changes are the FD is only good to handle up to a 44 and why change. Blades can do 5000+ km. Unless the chain is skipping on the front no need to change. Going bigger is not going to make her faster as you will need more power causing bigger muscles to tire quicker.

If you had a comfortable bike before, the best thing to go is to compare the 2 bikes geometry and make a decision for yourself. LBS often know little of the product they sell

Dont you just buy the 68 BB and not fit the spacers on the 73? All the BB's I have bought so far had the option to fit both types and on the little instruction leaflet they showed you how to fit it to 68mmm or 73mm Edit, are you talking about an External BB or the one with the taper Sqaure?
