  1. Then it is easy. I have a Recon Gold Solo air on my one bike and serviced it myself the other day. It is about 1.5 hours work (including fitting the fork) and not that difficult at all. Go to Leigh Cycles in Pavilion, they have all the service kits that you will need. I got mine there and I think about R275. Hope you come right.
  2. Where are you from?
  3. It all depends where in the South Coast. Ellingham Estate is big on the list and if you like Single track with some technical section, then Canonbrae forest a must!
  4. Well, I like the bike.....where did you find your wife who bought you this? Want to go look there for one! :-)
  5. Durban got the least climbing?? Did you actually cycle Durban area before?
  6. Giant 29er came out with DT hub and is normally louder than other hub. Noting wrong it. My wife complain about exacly the same thing today!
  7. What will it cost for postage to Durban?
  8. I have the Elixir CR on my bike. I actually though after you spend so much hard earned cash on a bike, you would have a proper brake system. The Elixir is crap breaks and seriously consider going XT....the only problem is to convinced my dragon (wife) that i need XT after I just bought the bike and spend quite a bit on it as well!
  9. Nice and amazed by the workmanship, but not exactly my choice of frame.
  10. I am in the market for a light for my mountain bike. I had contacted my LBS and they have this light called GREEN LIGHT that is 1200 lumens. Did anybody heard of them and if so, how good are they?
  11. Dont know about the Reba, but I have the Recon Gold! Got the service manual from the internet, YouTube help, and bob is your aunt's! Did it myself and really not that difficult.
  12. Thanks, did some pricing yesreday, can get away with about R200 a tyre, that is not bad considering that tubeless MTB is going R500+. I am not planning anyway to keep the slicks on, just for Amashova and then nobbies must go back on.
  13. Sorry Loud mouth or oeps...Loudmac. You dont need to be a lawyer to know that there is no charge as attempted assault or Assault with harmful/criminal intent. Try assault common or assault GBH, but then assault should have taken place witch in this case did not happen. So, alternatively you could try a charge of Reckless and or negligent driving.
  14. Oeps....i was in anyway thinking to strap my Camelpak on my back! My tubeless tyres going to take a serious beating on that 100+ road trip. I will check the prices on slicks and if it is going to be to expensive, some roadies will hate me then! (Will make sure there is still chunks of mud on the tyres before I pull away:-) :-) :-))
  15. Road bike would probibly be the answer, but unfortunately I dont own one.:-) I was looking to maybe buy a good second hand one, but dont think the dragon (wife) is going to fall for that one. Not after my stund I pulled with a new Anthem 29er a few weeks ago. I got a Merida 1000 lite as well and was thinking of putting slicks on it for this event.
  16. Thanks for the advice ......now looking forward to do this!
  17. I am thinking to do the Amashova on a mountain bike. What I know of road events is freaking dangerous, so that is why I post here to get some advice. Obviously I will replace my tires with some slicks. Now, I currently got tubeless mountain bike tires on the bike. When replacing, do I need to get tubes or can sliks also run tubeless. My other question, are there any other people doing the Amashova on MTB! I dont want to pitch up and I am standing out like roadie with his road bike at a Mountain Bike event.:-)
  18. This is going to be a long shot, but my daughter lost her computer at Albertfalls Mountain Bike Event. I think you should narrow it down by atleast a bit more information....that is only if you actually want to find the owner:-)
  19. That is nice.....!!!!
  20. Attemted assault??? The cops will laugh at you if you even try to open a case like that!
  21. I have a Bryton 50 and had nothing but briliant service from Jason and his team at Ballistic Trading. When my wife bought the unit, they did not have in stock. A loan unit was ship to me and delivered the following day at my house. A week later my unit arrive and got delivered. I needed a extra bike mount to safe me the hassle to move the bike mount from one bike to another. Without any fuzz it got delivered to me the following morning. My heart rate monitor gave me some problems and without any problem it got replaced to my door the following day after I spoke to them. (Yes, they are making use of a great overnight courier service and no.....I am not working for them:-) :-)) In my opinion that is great sevice....not once, but all the time I had to deal with them. If I must ever buy again, it will most definitely be a Bryton again. Please keep in mind that we are dealing with electronic equipment. Like in anything we buy, it can be or get faulty and that is where the after service is SO important. From my experience I can definitely recommend any Bryton product.
  22. When buying second hand you buying somebody else problems.
  23. Go for the GIANT....not because I have one, but it is the best alrounder and it is a dual. Experience in a dual, there is none according to me, just so mush better to have that dual and feel how that back suspension keep your tyres to gravel!:-) Enjoy the shoping.....that is always a good part! Whatever you decide on, I am quite sure you will enjoy it anyway!
  24. I luckely don't have kids small enough to use any of these (maybe one day grand children), but i was just wondering how safe is these trailers. Most of my cycling is being done off road and some terrain can get a ruff with some down drops act.....how will these handle it? Also, single track ridding with some short switch back turn act. I can understand that it will work for road cycling, but most of these trailers is behind mountan bikes so it made me curious if people is actually using it on proper mountain bike terrain? Anyway, I still love the idea as this is a awesome family sport!
