  1. Was there still people using Squirt!! I never liked Squirt in anyway but please elaborate why you dumped the bottle and while you at it, mentioned what product you using instead now.
  2. So I was "told" by my wife that she needs (wants) a new mountain bike and that it must be something decent this time. She become rather knowledgeable regarding the different components that is available on the market and insist that it must be a dual suspension. The biggest problem we got is that she is 1.58 tall (short ) and therefore need a Extra Small bike. She got a Extra Small currently and fit her 100%. She tried a normal small bike before, but was not very comfortable with it and a bit on the big side. Ideally I would think of a 29er but I don't think it is available in a Extra Small. My next thought is maybe a 27.5, but due to availability and newly introduced in the Market, not really available....especially in Extra Small! There is some manufactures like Giant that have a Extra Small duel, but only in a 26er. My question is: Is there actually a Manufacturer that makes a 29er or a 27.5 in a Extra Small (14.5) duel suspension?
  3. I got my Recon service kids from my local dealer. Go with Johan Bornman as he gave me advise that time and worked out perfectly for me.
  4. Thank you Johan, your explanation make perfect sense!
  5. You actually get this where? I thought cycling is about fitness, endurance, self discipline and most importantly FUN. Did I miss something by not attending that class or was the memo not sent to me?
  6. I can understand the whole thing about race chips and the advantages of it, but what get me de M*%r in that every Tom, Dick and Harry race got different chips. So entering a race you must first check what trimming chip will be needed, then if you don't have that one yet, budget an extra R100 for it (R100 with out the specific mount you will need) I don't mind paying for a chip if I lost it or something, but having so many various different timing methods it is no wonder people believe it is a money making racket!
  7. That is purely surface rust and that is what we get staying in Durban with the best hills, best tracks and crap weather (Like today) That is made of mild steal and there is absolute nothing you can do to prevent it! I can also assure you that it will not influence your bike performance in any way as long as you keep it clean and lubricated with some oil. There is only three things that prevent rust on mild steel.....(one better than the other) 1. Galvinise 2. Replace with stainless steel 3. Paint If you cant do the above, just enjoy Durban and go ride some tracks!
  8. Can somebody please tell me what de hack is that numbers on the FOX fork where the TA screws in. Looks like one or other advanced setting. After staring at this a few times, decided that it must be a setting that I don't really need and left it like the way I got it. Please tell me it makes the bike faster and easier on the hills!
  9. Are we going to need popcorn for this one again? I got two bikes with TA and one with QR and to be frankly honest never felt any difference between the two while ridding. I will agree the the TA is probably better, but not for the reason of "stiffness". Taking a TA wheel off and back on is mush easier and there is the sense of safety when ridding knowing that the wheel is more secure with TA, but that is that for me! Maybe I am not ridding my bikes hard enough and not taking them to the edge to feel the difference.

    AMASHOVA

I also did it on a mountain bike and was indeed load and load of fun. That person that siad it is downhill all the way must be shot!! All and all, great event and on my to do list for next year again. How does the Argus and the 94.7 compare with the Amashova?
  11. Just yesterday i was thinking of getting myself a road bike (must just convince the wife first), but I am 1.72. What size would fit me. All my MTB is medium.
  12. It is raining cat and dogs! Even IF the rain stop, the route is going to be water locked! Count me out, but those doing it......you going to need wet suits!
  13. Nah.....tried and tested that one last year and did not work out!! This year I got my entry, know I got one for sure.....not hopefully waiting for somebody to decide he /she is not going to make it!
  14. Well, maybe called it luck, but i got an entry for next year!!!! I am supper exited about it!!
  15. .....and you not in Durban. I seriously need somebody to service a hub for me.
  16. Very good answer Jacques - Short and sweet! There will always be space for a 26er although 29er is big in demand. Tall people will find the 29er more appropriate where short people will better fit on a 26er. I got both bikes and love both of them. Like playing in the single tracks with a 26er, while the 29er goes very well on district road. The one is NOT better than the other!
  17. I got the same problem. I was always able to go to the full version, but for one or other simple reason the Full Version don't want to work on the tablet anymore. I think that more and more people will change to tablets in the future and would be worth the while to get it sorted out. No more laptops and clumpy computers to carry around! (Oeps.....you will still need a proper computer......there is somethings a tablet can simply NOT do)
  18. I got the Avid Elixer CR and learned to live with that constant noice when braking. What I dont understand, I spoke to a few people that got exacly the same brakes and they are happy as can be.
  19. ......or wrong!
  20. After reading all the positive posts about the ESI grips, I got myself a set today. What a mission to get them on, but they are on! :-) Will use them tomorrow morning!
  21. I experience the exact same problem. My bike is a Athem X with the same shock setup. After following the setup procedures provided by Fox wesite, my fork is 100%, but my rear shock is giving hassle. I only use about 50% of my rear shock after a VERY pumpy ride. My weight is 79 kg. My apologies for hi-jacking this post!
