Me and my wife decided to take on some mountain biking. We are not looking to race, but would like to participate for the fun and recreation thereof. After I had looked around we decided on the following in the meantime. A Avalanche GT 1.0 for my wife and a Merida Matts Lite 1000 for myself. What I would like to know is your views on the two bikes and if the bikes would be suitable for beginners and to some events with them. I would appreciate your honest opinions. Thank you

I recently (9 months ago) converted to Telkom ADSL 4 meg Line speed with 9 gig data p/month. It came with a router that enable me, my wife and daughter to connect wireless with our laptops all at the same time!! I was pleasantly surprised to the speed of the 4 meg line (even with 3 laptops connected). It is definitely faster and cheaper as the previous 3x 3G's that we had, although MTN claim that it was 7.2 meg with full 3G reception that I do have at my house. I can honestly say, Telkom service is not that bad! I applied effortless and two days later they installed the new line! I must however point out...once the cables was stole in the area and it took them 3 days to sort it out. In that time i just used my MTN 3G cards as a backup!

Point noted....and do agree up and until a point. All I am saying, this is not a crucifying SAPS site and as you rightfully said, there are a lot of people inside the SAPS that really go out of their way! So and as I mentioned before, rather work with that I/O and assist him to compile a watertight case! I do apologize if I had offended anybody, but at the end of the line, I know the conditions and the lack of resources that SAPS members face day to day...... Good Luck and glad that these bike thieves was stopped!!!

There are a lot of factors that can contribute not to have a open / shut case.

..... do you really think that it is n nice thing to say??? I would like to see you in that action and then talk again! Please keep in mind that SAPS is also on here and not only you!! If you can't say something nice, please keep quite or use your negative mind and come up with something positive to say

Hi There, Being a detective in the police myself, I can just imagine the support the investigating officer will require from the owners of the bikes. Identification statements act. In the same time, he still going to require a lot of information to deal with the bail application that is on his hands pretty soon. I want to urge from your people to assist him and if you know of anybody bike that is stolen and maybe not as yet recovered....the investigating officer CAN use any bid of information to insure that bail is denied and the culprits stay and remain behind bars where they belong!!!!!

Mad Dog…..I don’t actually see the joke in this. I can just presume that you don’t have trust in the police making a remark like that. I was just wondering what you as a citizen in this country do to prevent or do assist the police in their investigations or to fight crime…….and I am not talking of turning a blind eye when you actually does see something. Unfortunate there are people out there that buy stolen bikes and THAT create a market for the thieves to continue to steal and to supply. If there is no market, they would not bother to steal it…. Please keep in mind that Carte Blanch is working hand in hand with the Police Organized Crime Units when working on a story and collect evidence in the same time. Yes, not all the evidence can be used in court, but with the necessarily supporting documents and evidence, that case could be well represented in court with the Footage of Carte Blanch……

I totally agree with Nox 1111 on this!! It does not matter how well or great your service is or was, it only takes one mistake like to ruin your good reputation. This mistake is not just a small mistake, this is serious as that person riding that bike could have been seriously injured. What then….???? Crucifying Nox1111 because he was unhappy about service is bad taste. I would be unhappy as well if it was me. If CWC was so great, he would have had systems in place to prevent that bike leaving his shop without properly checked and serviced…. It seems like the people defending CWC is hoping for some brown points here!!!! …..my opinion!
