  1. My wife bought me the Briton Rider 50 Bundle for Christmas and I am very happy with it. I used mine on really tough and bumpy routes, and the mounting meganism is great! Maybe they improved the design on the newer models. Display is awesome and really easy to use. Love it!!
  2. Always great to hear about good service. Just a pity I am in KZN, would have liked to support a business with great service. There is a few bikes shops around here that will never see me again. I must add, there is one bike shop that I recently visited for the first time and must be honest......great service, does not matter if you bay something, just looking or just there to get something small, service is always great. Evens Cycles!!!!
  3. Well......my wife rides a long time and still on normal shoes. I tried to convince her to switch over to cleats but without any sucsess. She refuse point blank and that is that. What ever you do to convince, let me know......want to try the same trick.
  4. Drango's..... I like your comment and find it interesting to read. I got to the conclusion that you know about snakes act act act..... My biggest question... If, and I say IF with the highest of respect...a person do get bitten by example a green / black mamba, how much time to do an average person have available to get medical assistance. (that is now before it is to late) The reason why I ask...from time to time you will be nowhere close to a road, or a landing place for a helicopter (plantations) and medical personnel need to navigated to where the incident occurred, and take into consideration you deal with the New South Africa act act...and that all take valuable time in a situation like this. I know it will differ from types of snakes, but because I mostly ride in Mamba area, I am mostly concern about them!! On the other hand, I can not remember hearing from any fatalities where a Mamba was involved in last couple of years....but still be interesting to know.
  5. Great Post!!

    Snakes

This morning I decided to ride my regular route....Canonbrea Forrest and Crooks Farm. I then came across a Night Adder snake, but was not that worried at all as I see them regular. I still had a stop and had a nice look!!! Then....about 5km further I was going through some thick overgrown. The next moment I heard something and then saw it.....!!!!! The biggest green Mamba I ever had seen. I must have gone over him, as his head was about half a meter above the ground, and was like "tumbling" on the side of the back wheel!...........needless to say.....I SHAT MYSELF!!! I don't know where the power came from, but I paddled to get away like there was no tomorrow. Now, it cross my mind that I don't have cellphone with me and quite sure other people also cycle without a cell phone. I was just wondering, what do you do if something like that happen, and did somebody got bitten while cycling before.
  8. Contact Briton directly, they deliver overnight with great service.
  9. Could be lube? I had the same issue untill I lubed up propperlyI realised I was not putting enough on the chain. No more weird sounds after that. Thank you....I will give it a try
  10. I bought a Merida about 6 months ago that came standard with a SLX chainwheel. Yesterday while doing some cycling I heard a strange noise and think it could be from the chainwheel. The noise is only there when I am putting some strain while peddle, but if stop peddle, the noise is gone. That gave me the suspicion that it could originate from the chainwheel. To describe the noise.....like a squeaking sound????? Do anybody know what could be wrong or even what I must do to get rid of this irritating noise.
  11. I got a aluminium frame bike. The problem is that while doing some ridding, the seat post keep on slipping down the frame every few kilometers. I had tighten the quick release on several times to such an extend that I thought I am going to break the seat post ring, but it still continue to slip down. Does anybody else have the same the problem, and if so, what can I do to get this sorted out. The bike is a Merida 1000 Lite with original seat post and seat post ring.
  12. Count another three riders in!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, I normally do the one with the engines so i think a another one without a engine will be great fun!!!!
  13. Where did you see the Matts Lite 1000 for R8500? That's a very good price. Please let me know. Thanks Merida Matts lite for R8500....please let me know where you get that prices??
  14. I am a weekend warrior and proud of it! Even more proud of my Merida bike, although it is a more racing geometry bike and not being utilized as it should, I still love it and enjoy it over weekends and the 20 - 25 family rides!
  15. Join Roag.....it's free and they are awesome!!! From there you would get all your answers you will need.
  16. WOW....this looks absolute stunning. Great way of doing things together!
  17. Where are you situated??? My mother in law will fit the scarecrow position perfectly!!!!!
  18. My wife is also quite small and had to get her something that give her clearance over the top bar. The only bike that accommodate her was the GT 1.0 extra small. The GT Small and Extra Small have a curved top bar that fit small people perfect.
  19. Junkmail is exactly the same!!! Bought a motorbike once and due to the distance asked my brother to have a look at the bike for me. To make a long story short, paid the person and while waiting for the money to show in his account, he let me know that he sold the bike to somebody else!!! Luckily for me the seller transferred the money back into my account though!!
  20. I was also looking at the second hand bikes and notice the same thing. Yes, with some of the components I can still agree, but even with stock standard bikes the price is sometimes more than the new bike. It could also be that the new prices drop due to how older that specific model gets. That is why I decided to rather bay new.

  22. Hi Robrider I will post the componants now thank you. Umkomaas is not exactly the valley the S2C rides down. Umkomaas is a town about 10km from Scottburgh where the S2C normally end. The S2C is normally coming down the Umkomaas Valley and from what I understand very nice. I don't know what took me so long to get a bike!!!....I can actually kick myself for that!
