  1. Nice acquisition Eppie. I agree, a Super. The details are very, very similar to my late 80s, early 90s Super, other than mine has the BB cutout and mine has curved forks (old style). The paintwork is identical to my 1994 Master Olympic, so my guess would be 1993/94 Super.
  2. Pictures are pretty cruddy though! I'm always in such a blooming hurry, and I don't possess artistic talent anyway!!!!!
  3. Knysna Cycle Worx having RETRO BIKE afternoon tomorrow, thanks Jaques. I left out Lord of the Flies. Again, didn't really get it when I was at school, but it makes sense now, especially in our current circumstances. Animal Farm is a classic though, also sort of pertinent in modern SA.

School English Lit. set works back in the dark ages: Lady Chatterly's Lover - had some pretty lewd parts, as I remember. As 16/17 year old boys, with hormones barking, we loved it. The Cruel Sea - no sex as far as I recall! The Good Companions - nothing to interest a schoolboy, though I find the social engineering failure it describes very interesting these days. The Brothers Karamazov - might as well have been in Russian for us, though I enjoyed reading it again after a few decades! Wonder what set works are these days?

A good idea, there must be someone around here that will accept the books. I collected books for many years, so have a ton! Some are pass onable to family, first editions and such. But there are plenty of novels, that people will still read. Also some 'old' academic books, suggesting that the earth is flat, or that maybe there are particles smaller than the atom. These may be worth something, though to whom I have no idea.

Yes. Fondly. There are a couple in on the Garden Route, though I don't visit them often anymore. Too many freebees on Amazon and my bookcases are full anyway. Actually wondering what to do with all my books!

  13. Difficult decision! I'll wait for guidelines from the organisors, but probably flat, with cages and running shoes, so I can walk up the steep hills!!
  14. Wayde!!!! I'm just worried that you won't be allowed to ride any of those beauties at Eroica Africa! And I'd love to see at least one of them suitably attired when we ride in Montagu. And meet you of course[emoji13]
  15. Agree 100%.
  16. toooo early on the buttons!!!
  17. Finished my EROICA SOUTH AFRICA ride yesterday. Other than headset, complete Shimano 600, some EX, some Tricolour. And pedals!!! Now to test ride it. I know the brake levers are a bit high, but once I lose my middle ( ), I'll lower them.
  18. Both lovely bikes, though IMHO the Colnago deserves more than Sante. BUT SNAP!!! I have a twin Daccordi, also Oria ML25 tubing. It's stripped at the moment, for paint repair. It's nickel plated under the paint and some of the 'purple' paint was peeling off, so just had it patched. She's normally dressed in 1st generation Athena.
  19. While we're on about seat posts, anyone have a 26.4 Stronglite, or any other French seatpost???? Need one for my Peugeot PX10.
  20. Nearest I have is a 26.8, so can't help. I'm still waiting for the leather factory details
  21. Or whatever, we can always talk, leather bar tape etc etc
  22. Hey AJ. I prefer to swop for goods, seems more productive. I'm looking for Zeus stuff, or Campy
  23. Brake levers I can't help with, but I have a 7410 FD to swop!!!
