Disagree . These guys are world class athletes and are backed by huge teams including Doctors . Once that fracture has been plated and is stable , I reckon they would do a whole series of assessments to see if it could handle the impact of quali and racing . Lots of common sense and logic would apply to their unique situation. Which is very different to our situations. Plenty of stories around bike riders in grand tours racing with broken bones . Just different circumstances

There have been occasions where a team has travelled from here to New Zealand or in reverse for a game and then flown back for a semifinal or playoff the following week . That’s mental. No other professional sport would even consider that for their athletes .

How many of us can honestly say that we miss Superrugby ? I don’t . Gotten stale and the timing really doesn’t work well to watch games in Australasia on a Saturday morning. The travel factor always counted against us in that competition. So I’m all for a new deal and a move to Pro 14 expanded .

Remember when the drought was on , the the water level dropped so low that you had to walk like 100m through the mud to get to the water . Reckon feet still stained from that mud 35 years later

Midmar was a right of passage in those days . 2 weeks in the caravan with the ballies , Windsurfers , Paper Tiger and eventually a ski boat. Was a big deal to sail right across the dam from Morgenzon over to the yacht club , get slap chips from the restaurant there and sail back. If you missed the boat it was a long run around. Remember so well the last few screaming reaches on my Flite slalom board as the wind howls just before the afternoon storm , and scrambling to get off the water as it hits. Good times

CW won’t allow a single bit of dirt anywhere near our caravan and setup . Camping doesn’t mean suffering by any means . Happily sit and drink my Nespresso or Moka , with a roasted meal to follow. And pudding baked in the Weber . Def no suffering

And the experience of riding your bike , coming back near sunset , lighting a fire and having the first few crisp sips , while presiding over your campsite is just stuff of legend .

Easy now. Caravan holidays are the finest thing in the world bar none.
