  1. Was the non worker on a cannondale and the guy threatening to bliksem him in purple kit?
  2. T Thanks Marius, he looked at the Menabo 3 bike as well, that is one of the options at this stage. I also found this one for those interested. http://www.bicyclepower.co.za/Products/SarisCycleRacks/tabid/110/catpageindex/2/ProductID/8/Default.aspx
  3. Where do they sell the Raleigh racks, I have a mate looking for a bike rack but it on a tight budget so I may suggest one of these.
  4. Got this from weathersa.co.za for Hammanskraal, Shoshanguve which looks close to Carousel, not much wind and it looks sunny. If they have got it right then it shouldn't be too bad well at least not as bad as yesterday and today.
  5. Thanks for the advice, it seems the the swissstop yellow pads are highly recommended, after speaking to the guys who bring in Reynolds, I have managed to organize a set of brake pads made by them so it should be safe to assume that they should do the job but I will need to swop pads when changing wheels. I am still keen to try out the swissstop pads, so will shop around for a good deal. Thanks again!
  6. I received an email late last night, if you're using gmail check your spam folder, that's where I found mine.
  7. Apparently there is no info about start times in the race pack either.
  8. Thanks for all the input so far.
  9. Thanks Meezo
  10. Hi Hubbers, I am looking for some advice on brake pads for a set of Reynolds Attack full carbon clinchers I recently aquired from a fellow hubber. I got the wheels recently and being super eager to try them out, I quickly went and bought some cork brake pads (as this is what I believe is used on carbon brake surfaces) however, after a bit more reading on Reynolds' website, I noticed they made a point of stating that cork brake pads must NOT be used on their wheels and if cork pads are used this will void the warranty. So does anyone know what the reason might be for them specifically saying why cork pads cannot be used? Obviously the wheels are out of warranty but I am more worried if the cork pads may damage the wheels. I also read on their site that they DO recommend the use of Swissstop yellow pads, so my next question is, are these pads available at most bike shops? Or can someone please guide me as to where I can get these? Thanks!!
  11. Dont really mind if I come first, second or third as long as I get in a few strokes while trying...
  12. HAHAHA I thought it would be best to use my ID photo as my avatar A for me as well, will be my first time in A... Sh!te I am going to bleed from my ears, I might drop down to B.
  13. Seeding has been completed... https://secure.onreg.com/onreg2/startlist/index.php?id=1594
  14. The moment Phelps “beat” Chad We’ve all experienced this feeling AT LEAST once in our lifetime! That moment when our football side scores and we run around the house celebrating, only to realise the linesman has his flag up for offside. That moment when your cricket team takes a wicket, only to see the umpire’s out-stretched arm signaling a No-Ball. Well, this is THAT MOMENT! See below, the reaction of Michael Phelps’s mom, frame by frame, as he finishes the race in which Chad le Clos competed. She believes her boy has won gold, but alas…OUR boy took it! Don’t worry, Mrs. Phelps. We’ve all been there. http://thisbruknows.files.wordpress.com/2012/08/phelps-mom2.gif?w=580
  15. I am actually super amped for the race, ready to give it horns (or at least try to) at the first race of the season. I will just go practice my bunny hops this weekend.
  16. I'm with MtbBarbie on this one, this race just sounds more and more awesome after every post... well at least if crashing into a pothole and then getting hit by an oncoming car is your thing... Will just have to go see what it's all about and try and stay upright (and try not to have a heart attack within the first 10kms.)
  17. You can register from 5am on the morning of the race as well.
  18. I will be there, my first time doing this race and it's gonna be interesting because I haven't really done any rides close to 110kms since the argus...
  19. Sorry, I misread your original post but you should also be able to get the clips when you collect your race numbers.
  20. www.championchip.co.za You can select to buy one on any event entry timed by them, I think it's R100. Apparently you can also buy them when collecting your race numbers for an event time by them.
  21. http://www.thesports...5-2012?sef=hcfp Doesn't include pedals and bottle cages but maybe they can do a deal for you.
  22. Is this the very tight bendy single track through the smallish bunch of trees that you are talking about? If so, we went through there yesterday for the first time, it is very cool but quite tricky for noobs like us, there were four of us riding yesterday, two of us made it through ahead of the other guys and I must say, it was quite amusing listening to the other two trying to make their way through, quite a few "F" bombs were being dropped as they tackled it...
  23. Thanks Scotty, can anyone join in? What sort of pace?
  24. Myself and a few mates would gladly join if there is anything leaving from the Benoni / Boksburg area. We normally latch onto the Bedford bunch on North Rand Rd on saturday mornings and TRY to keep up but that doesn't normally last too long and we get dropped on Pomona... but we keep trying...
  25. I'm also going to miss it!! I was looking forward to it this year. Just up the road from me but unfortunately cant make it...
