  1. It happens to everybody. I had it yesterday, lost the front of the bunch never to be seen again
  2. So are C,D and E groups huge or what?
  3. I had my best ride of the season Lost 3 guys going up boyes but another rider and I caught them just after Fish hoek, then we slowed down quite a bit and went up Ou Kaapse not too fast, but we dropped the a huge bunch of E riders by quite a bit. Then the 3 guys broke again at the top, it was if as an elastic had been pulled back a few km and then snapped they were so quick. Then my sram decided to act up, and it mis-shifted, not too badly though and I got it on by shifting into the big ring, but I lost the other guy. Worked hard and caught him down Ou Kaapse and didn't look back (-Metaphorically only, I looked back every few seconds to make sure he wasn't catching me) then I rode in in 4th place, been coming 6/7/8 so I'm stoked!

    Cricket......

I think so too, usually innings refers to the batting side. But maybe it's different this time?
  5. Or Andy leaving his yellow bike at the dustbins after the stage when his chain fell off.
  6. results being uploaded now. PPA and Racetec results pages are down.
  7. I've got the rules saved on my desktop, I know what they are, just don't agree with a few of them. No, I'd just rather finish the race if I get a puncture than sit at the side of the road waiting for somebody to come and pick me up. What I said earlier, about it being uncomfortable wasn't entirely true. I have no issues riding with things in my back pocket, but I get lower back pains, and that just ruins the ride for me. The only time I don't ride with it is if there is a back up vehicle with my spare wheels, otherwise it just doesn't make sense time wise.
  8. Super keen to do this. When I click entries on the website its only for the pretoria event... Any ideas when entries open? are they already?
  9. When was South Africa inducted into Europe? I ride with a saddlebag on my road and mt bikes, may not look great, won't argue with that. But it allows me to have things I might need while riding, Gu's/bars/money/phone in my back pockets and then puncture/other spare parts in he saddlebag. Also when I ride with all the stuff in my saddle bag on my back, or even a water bottle it's hecticly uncomfortable. I'd rather be comfortable than look cool.
  10. So my P2Max is arriving tomorrow, will try and get it fitted on Monday, otherwise it will be done on Thursday and ready for the weekends racing
  11. cut it in half. When it happened to me, it took the LBS like 2 weeks to get it sorted, they had to put something down there to loosen it up. We couldn't even move it at home.
  12. +1, would be great!
  13. I just look at speed and distance, and then cadence on the downhills for fun. Although up vissershoek on our recce ride I had to look, just to be sure I wouldn't fall over at the top.
  14. Shifting while under extreme pressure/power strokes?
  15. Look up 2 or 3 posts
  16. Woah, with the scott you're getting a groupset that is the best. And unless some downhill is planned then I'd definitely go with the scott if the worst came to, then one would have to replace the shock. A friend of mine is getting the scott in the next few weeks, will give it a try and let you guys know. But having ridden '11 XX and '12 XT, I can say that the XX requires a lot more finesse, whereas the XT is bombproof. Depends what you're looking for.
  17. Yup, pretty much exactly the same.
  18. Short, if it was the long...well, I would have probably sat up and waited for the bunch...
  19. One of the U16's touched wheels up Helz, this was already the top 8, he was in 6th, so he crashes, me and another guy take evasive action which involved us swerving all over the road. So then we get dropped because of the gap, so it's now 3 upfront from an earlier break, 6 in the "main bunch" 2 in the 2nd bunch on the road (me and this other guy) and then the guy who crashed (JC Jantjies) By the top of helz I've dropped the one guy, caught 2 from the break, and JC came flying past me. Rode the rest of the ride with one of the guys from the break, who refused to work at all, so I paced from 20-60km by myself, no one caught us, we passed the last person from the break, and low and behold, I get out sprinted after working for 45km. Finished with a 1:59 so can't really complain, think I was 8th. Enjoyed it though, great training
  20. He is riding the Argus, starting in the Drug Free sport charity group.
  21. What exactly are the prices for each?
  22. Hmmm, If you plan on doing maintenance your self then a torque wrench is a must, otherwise you might find your chainrings coming loose during the ride, or...you may have overtightened them. Not saying you don't know what you're doing, just a means of double checking and getting it perfect.
  23. Google is your friend.
