  1. They look very similar to me, just the components that are different, definitely go with 729 if you can, the SL729 is even better. Maybe e-mail Momsen and ask or go to your LBS...
  2. No, you get an AL 729 as well. The OP asked what the difference is between the AL 529 and the AL 729 not the SL 729.

Ya, I think there were probably more people there today than last week or very close. But at least it shows that they're working on it somehow. I hope they're up tonight, but I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't...

The only way to practice is to sprint up every hill you can find when training.

From the Pro-Classic e-mail received yesterday... "Mixing of different racing Pro Classic Series/groups Racing groups may not combine unless two categories start at the same time. If it so happens that cyclist(s) come into contact with a group that is not part of their specific racing category, the cyclist must either ride past or stay 20 meters behind the group. Should it happen that a cyclist(s) passes the league group; the commissaire will instruct the group to let the cyclist(s) go past. No participant is allowed to fall into the slip of a cyclist(s) that is not part of their particular racing group. This rule holds true for both other Pro Classic Series groups and funride groups. Cyclists infringing on this rule may be disqualified, penalized or both."

Get some team tactics going, in U16 there is a team of 6 or 7 riders and quite frankly they're unstoppable, if we don't chase their breaks they get away, if we do, we're dead and then they send someone else. Like Nuge said, or do a Andy-Frank 1-2.

The whole idea with the new points system is to make people who are coming outside of the top 5 not sprint, they won't get any more points than the next unless they put 5 seconds into the next person...
  12. Nope, just the slingshot at Ratanga which has a second of free fall or something, would like to try it someday though. Not quite as much fun, but a close 2nd
  13. But the rollercoaster is so fun

Entered for the 123km Hope i don't regret it.
  15. no. The ZTR crests are limited to 70 i think, the race golds are much more flimsy.
  16. I know, but I think the next phrase in your sentence gives it away. Anyhow, I won't point it out to anyone who may have missed it.
  17. well it's not much of a surprise now is it?
  18. Just on the note of losing enjoyment and riding to win; Last year I was 2nd year U14 and so I was trying to win the league, I pre planned every race, when to eat, where to sit in the bunch due to weather, where to sprint from, when to attack, etc. Just had everything down to the finest detail and I won. Now, as a 1st year U16, realistically, I can't beat the 2nd years unless there is some major accident, which would suck. So now all I do, is eat after a turn at the front, don't attack, sprint when I think it's right and not be too bothered about position. It's been 2 races so far, and yes, I still want to be in the top few, and my goal is to be the 1st first year at the end of the season, but I've enjoyed both the rides so much more, just going out and riding. Note: this is road riding but it's the principal.
  19. Thanks Pity you couldn't ride, was a great day Will see you on Sunday at the bouckaert?
  20. But he's on a pina now
  21. Oh ok, makes sense, thanks.
  22. I think this may be a bit far, yes they are part of the problem, there should have been a marshall, but you cannot blame them for people riding badly. Do you blame the referee if a soccer player breaks his leg? Or an umpire if a batsmen is knocked out by the bowler? No, the referee's/marshall's/umpires are not to blame for an accident, they should help prevent them, but sometimes it is out of their control. Even if the marshall's were there, I assume the crash happened quickly and there would have been nothing they could do to stop it, as you said the guy who was hit by the motorbike had nowhere else to go, so what could a marshall have done? If you feel that your life is endangered by other riders on the road then either don't participate in events or take up MTBing full time, or teach them how to ride.
  23. and was that a Dh'er pushing up the berm
  24. I ride a HT most of the time so none of that for me. But, My mom has an EX8 which i'm sure can be used as a dh bike quite easily, just need to put some big tyres on the spare wheels and it should be good. Just don't feel like crashing
  25. I thought I was fast But I'll take a dual-sus down there and see what I can do Was that filmed with a gopro?
