  1. But isn't that why they seeded you in the group?
  2. I'm also in $, considering dropping myself down a bit though, might make for a more relaxing ride...
  3. Oh ok, then it is the Garmin that is attached to the shoes and yours that is on the pedal spindle?
  4. The polars have been out for quite a while, and they come with the real deal Looks. The only thing is that you have to ride with transmitters attached to your shoes. Not ANT+ The Garmin ones are coming out soon, similar to Polar although they are also ANT+, which means you can use them with other head units and not just Garmin. Edit: The Garmin pedals are Look compatible, but not real Looks. My concern would be that if you crashed, your shoes are pretty much always going to get scuffed at least, and if there is a piece of expensive equipment in the way then thats going to get damaged too.
  5. I got 14 in my MTB on friday. Most of them came out and sealed, but my back tyre (Continental something supersonic) couldn't handle it and has had a temper tantrum. Anyway, punctures are the worst, luckily it was at the end of my ride.
  6. So I was riding with 2 other U16's coming down Ou Kaapse, pedaling at 130rpm, and then when we go past polsmoor another U16 comes past in the slip of a B rider. So do I lodge a complaint, because the points I get now (bunch points) are to be shared by 4 people instead of 3? What do you think?
  7. was a minute slower than last year for the same course, must have been the heat.
  8. I dropped my chain at the top of ou kaapse today, luckily I had a lead on the next guys, I got back on as they passed me. Time to invest in a chain catcher me thinks.
  9. Crank, in the process of an upgrade, my new crank PM should arrive sometime this month after a small delay. Hub pm's are good, but there will always be the aspect of the worn chain. Go for the crank one, Then you can use your cosmic carbones for racing. Those are some of the reasons.
  10. No, it is our problem. Because of some reckless riders most motorists now aren't as careful as they could be. Why should they follow the rules if you (read cyclist) don't.
  11. I agree, why should we suffer because of some idiots? I'm a youngster, and sometimes racing snake, but I always stop at red robots, it's not going to kill you to stop, but it could if you don't. Edit: City Cycling Club taught me the habit of stopping at every red light, all the time, even if there aren't cars around. They're in Cape Town, so you don't even have to go to JHB.
  12. If I have a bad (horrible) ride, then I won't take a medal. I don't really care either way, It would be good for the environment if they scrapped them, but at least half of the people will complain that they want a medal for their children or some other reason... An option would be good, but not everybody enters online, and what happens then? Or if somebody says no to a medal online and then they want one at the finish... Those little fabric pieces you get at some races are better, but still.
  13. I think it's a bit closer to a km, maybe 800m? but there will be 1k and 500m to go signs, so don't fret.
  14. Yup, left after peddlars at the robot, I think it's still quite a way after the robot. I'll look on my garmin from the ride last year. Will post shortly.
  15. I'm getting a Power2max powermeter, similar to quarq but substantially cheaper, and with you going to Europe in the next week it could get to you when you're there. You can look on their website, www.power2max.de, or Facebook or twitter for Power2maxza. Getting mine sometime this month.
  16. But amazing nonetheless.
  17. Or is extremely happy with their super light 26er that descends and goes through the tight singletrack and switchbacks better than any 29er ever will. Hat, Coat, Door.

    Bouckaert-Soenen

We had a Marshall with us the whole time, and he was cranky!! They usually give us a few cm's on the white line to make a break but nothing yesterday. One of the riders went on the attack, was an awesome break and would've been tough to pull him back and then the marshall comes around and tells him he has a warning, even though the road was clear. Now i'm not saying we should be allowed to cross the white line, and I think it's good now that they're enforcing it hecticly, especially after last week.
  21. Ya, guess so, not too disappointed, hardly use my PPA number either way...
  22. From 10 down to 12.95, just inside of B, Had 2 rides both on 6.0 and one on 0.0 and the 2 on 6.0 have jumped to 11.0 and the 0.0 to 1.0. Weird, But anyway... And I was hoping for a move up to A this month
  23. Not saying anything pro/anti racetec, but did you e-mail them and ask if anything could be done? Obviously it is frustrating but i'm sure they can sort it out.
  24. This was at John O Connor a while back, was all white though.
