  1. that's my plan! is there a secure place to lock up the bike there ?
  2. ok let me get a roadie on here, couch and all (albeit it a cement one) http://hollywoodcartel.files.wordpress.com/2007/12/colnago.jpg
  3. those chromed bars look great!! http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4056/4489051285_14952d640a.jpg
  4. It amazes me how one doesn't eat before an early morning ride... the last time you usually ate was at supper somewhere around 7 - 8 pm so say you ride at 05h30 that's like 9 hours since you ate last. If you rode in the afternoon would not eat 9 hours before that ride? It makes sense to me that you will have more energy not only on your ride but throughout the day if you ate something small before the ride. Even if it is a bowl of cornflakes... could be wrong, I'd save myself more food if I am
  5. good job I try commute at least 3 days a week. now you can have a Wacky Wednesday tomorrow and not feel guilty
  6. wow thanks so much!!
  7. I ride 2 hours in the am and I usually have a Future Life shake before the ride and have my usual energy drink in my bottle. Then a bowl of oats with Protein Shake afterwards. Just cause it is an early morning ride doesn't mean you need to treat it any differently to your other rides.
  8. it's Cape Town... anything is possible!!
  9. hectic!! sorry to hear that, ja if you post some pics we can keep a more specific eye out for them.
  10. as far as I know you just pitch up there, it's like cycling on the road I guess
  11. that's the plan for once a week to have an open water swim. got the map from the ATC website.
  12. I will look into that, but the drive of my life at the moment is to decrease the amount of debit orders coming off my account not increase
  13. I also haven't used their services but I have been to his workshop and seen some of his work and it is really good. I am not sure how he is on the really creative airbrushing type painting but in terms of frame restoration he is very good. I personally use Fly Wheel Bikes, the guys name is Zahier. Really awesome and seriously talented in restoration and the creative side!!
  14. just need it to be longer than 20m so it sounds perfect! swimming a long endurance session in a 20m pool is terrible cause you feel like you barely get in a rhythm before you have to turn.
  15. hahahahahahaha!! thanks for the heads up!
  16. not keen on paying so much gym fee's to only use the pool! LS pool only costs R12 a session so it will only cost me about R170 a month!
  17. Anyone in Cape Town been to this pool before for IM training? I am moving to Gardens and it seems like this is the closest pool. Also does anyone know how many metres it is? Can't find much info on the net Thanks
  18. that viner is sweet!!
  19. I managed to get a spare road fork with a hole for the front brakes, so if I want to change it into a SS I just need to swop forks, spin the wheel around (will have fixie cog on one side and SS cog on the other side) and change handlebars to my SS bars with the front brake lever on maybe I should call her Optimus Prime ?
  20. he mostly does lowriders but he can do anything really, take him a drawing and Bob's your uncle
  21. had some fun with Paint not perfectly to scale but this is the paint job I have in mind. Base colour will be a Matt black as is possible - zero shine and the orange and World Champ strips will be very bright colours getting rather excited!
  22. an example... http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wb8bAl1P-N0/SGj9WPBG0KI/AAAAAAAACjk/dYmNW-xJUgg/s400/ross.jpg

  24. exactly it's going to be a purist bike messenger fixie not going to be much fun to ride I think, unless having the living daylights scared out of you is classified as fun!
  25. that makes sense. hitting the pedal on the ground on a fixie will not be pleasant. I am not putting any brakes on and I will be using the bike as my commuter in town it could get interesting got a mate making me messenger type handlebars, they are going to be 25cm from end to end
