  5. agree with dman, easiest way to solve this is turn the stem around, or put a new stem with a bigger rise on the bike
  6. A lot of groups ride from either teak or Something country most leave at 6 and are part of training squads (Fleet, Liftestruck, Troi etc) rides are usually 130-180k depending on time of year and vary in speed, but since you are not allowed to draft at IM, you will be fine riding on your own

  22. Found online CSC, tubular Cyclocross, Clydesdale, Powertap and track versions of our wheels have no weight limit, ( your bike frame limits should be checked too). The ZED6, ZED8 and ZED10 wheels with the super-stiff laminate option would also have no weight limit, if these are also built using the 24 hole rear spoking option (not the standard 18 spoke rear lacing). For our other Zipp wheels, we recommend: * 185 lbs (85kg) for 202 tubular, * 200lbs (90kg) for 303 tubular, * 225lbs (102kg) for 404, 808 and 1080 tubular wheels * 260 lbs (120kg) for clinchers (except 303 = 220lbs or 100kg) Roadies >>200 lbs (90kg) and triathletes >>220 lbs (100kg) should consider the Clydesdale version for improved lateral stiffness. (You can buy the wheels without the Clydesdale decals if you so wish

  24. Forwarded to me via email Subject: [AR Club] Fw: Bike Jacking en route to Gerardsville via Centurion, Joburg FYI - from Karin Stoll Hi Everyone Anita, Colin and myself went for an anticipated 80 km ride yesterday. WE went up through Blue hills to the top of the airfield and then over the main Olifantsfontein road, down London rd tar road. From there at the end we left the tar and went onto the dirt next to that substation. Just past the substation, we hit the jeep track, when Colin saw a dog in the grass and yelled at Anita to be careful. We often see dogs on our rides and sometimes they chase us. Anita stopped, and Colin and I caught up to her. THe next thing the "dog" rose out of the long grass, brandishing the biggest, shiniest knife we've ever seen. This was an extremely well set up ambush, over a 200 m stretch. Suddenly out of nowhere there were guys popping up everywhere with great big knives. We were stripped of our bikes and camelbaks. THey were after the cell phones, as they pertinantly asked Anita if hers was in her pack. We were very fortunate that Colin noticed the "dog", which turned out to be very Black. At least we were on the edge of the ambush, and the others further down the line had to run up to us, which gave us the chance to then run like hell back to London rd. In all, there were a minimum of 10 of them - it almost seemed as though they were set up to deal with quite a few riders. Running in cyling shoes is a killer - feels like you are going nowhere. We were very fortunate and are unharmed. Please warn everyone who rides in this area, as the grass is very long and this is the perfect hiding place. We've seen Craig, Malcolm, Troy and his Epic partner on this exact piece of road. Some roadies stopped to help us once we were on London rd and said that apparently this had happened three weeks ago, and had been in their newsletter - however, we did not know about it!!!! Please be careful. Ciao Karin, Anita & Colin
