  1. +1 I agree fully with that, within each discipline by distance is fine with me!
  2. So Roadbikers, MTBrs, runners and swimmers will do the same distance in that 3:15? #justmy5c
  3. I have the KCNC ones on a road an MTB, find them noisy and shifting not as 'crisp' (no I have no scientific evidence just my 'perception') BUT they do last long and look the business if you into the colour co-ordination thing (no patch I don't think they come in ORANGE!)
  4. Well I would rather ask what would you like from the club?
  5. So I best make 'hay while the sun shines' the next 2 weeks
  6. Got a cool one at Epic last year but in the meantime my wife's cell number and my medical aid details have changed - now it's just another cool momento
  7. Cool so I'll be 'non prejudiced' then
  8. Velouria I agree with that fully, as someone who rides mostly MTB but quite a bit of road as well it seems a tad biased towards road riders .....
  9. My comments from the other thread about this event "Having never done the 'classic marathon' but a number of SabieX's and one Forest to Falls I had no idea what previous events were like, having said that it was clear it would be no 'walk in the park'! It was tough but hey I just enjoyed being out in such a great environment, meeting/chatting to mates MarcFr, IdeJongh, Jarek, Martin, Gremlin and MtbBarbie (the highlight of anyones day for sure ) Just thankful being fit/healthy to do something like this and the feeling of achievement after, I even took the time to look around at and appreciate the scenery (yes I did walk at times) Organisation was excellent as was the route marking/marshalls and water points! Fortunately due to another 'little' event last year it takes a lot more than that for me to lose my sense of humour "
  10. Helmet and 'chute'?

  12. OK some more accurate profiles after my laps today, the short loop is very ridable but for sure not boring! The long on the other hand will need some strong legs as there is some hard climbing but you will be rewarded with amazing views, singletrack and downhills (tricky but not dangerous!)
  13. Shouldn't off-topic be hyphenated?
  14. ..... or do you just get a bike, any bike and go out and ride
  15. My pleasure! Hopefully meet you there if I survive this afternoons lap
  16. I may even post some profiles of rthe 2 races later if anyone is interested
  17. Hoping to go 'recce' the route tomorrow! Looking forward to it ....
  18. In 'our' defense the initial statement by 'Boerie', a 'trusted' source did steer it in a certain direction?
  19. even in a pa ..... sorry just remembered my NYR
  20. :w00t: :w00t: :w00t:

  22. Dude my body is a 'temple'
  23. This is true but it seems one must get a tattoo BEFORE you can go
