So after a visit to Summit Cycles today I must retract my statement as they showed me that they put BBB (at least I think it was ...) and also KCNC pulley wheels on an X9 upper. Seemingly when using the BBB types you need to file that extra guide down only slightly but with the KCNC ones nothing needs to be done! So for sure my replacement pulley wheels will not be SRAM! You can use any Shimano RD (Deore, SLX, XT, XTR) doesn't matter if it's rapid rise or not! Rapid rise / normal will only affect the direction of the shift when using the lever.

If it were a rule I would be happy to abide but as long as there is a choice I'll decide and use it in what I consider a safe manner for both myself and other competitors. At least I don't listen to that heavyrock stuff (Elvis) that DirtRider does ......
