  1. Jeez thankfully I said I'd wear one for as long as it is considered necessary by law/rule or whatever but as soon as it is considered 'optional' I would seriously consider no longer wearing one... Don't really feel like tarring and feathering at this time!
  2. Funny you say that, at the bike shop my son always does it the way you say, rear on the left and front on the right... I put both on the left, habit I suppose and it just 'looks' right [emoji12]
  3. I agree with everything except the wearing of masks... Some may choose to continue wearing them and that is their perogative but as soon as I don't have to I won't. Let's put it in a cycling context, I ride alone often and far in remote places, I ride on the road at times in the suburbs where there's lots of traffic. Many of you say that's nuts but those are risks I'm prepared to take to live the life I want. If course I try to be as careful as possible and do nothing stupid, I also have a family that want to see me get back safe (at least I'd like to think so [emoji6])
  4. The best company makes for great rides mate!
  5. I believe in free will and common sense, I wear a mask as required at the moment but I do not see myself wearing it forever. Just me, you do you my friend!
  6. No just no and I don't care what anyone thinks but it's not normal period
  7. I find that difficult to comprehend, yeah I'm an old cynical sod ... I don't want nor see that as my future. Chastise and judge me all you want but just no
  8. Just something about being able to ride when you want as far as you want when it's convenient! Just to keep in mind that for some even this concession doesn't really help as their working hours don't allow them to go anyway at least during the week. I feel for them.
  9. Are we seriously to believe that mask wearing will be our future forever? How long do y'all envision this being for ... I fear for the future we have created for our children
  10. Sean at TreadMTB is keeping an updated list here if you want to see if your favourite trail is open ... http://www.treadmtb.co.za/lockdown-level-3-where-you-can-ride-your-mountain-bike/
  11. Thinking about a tandem Monstercross gravel bike ... The donor bike is available and most of the parts ... Just scheming about running the mechanical discs, it does have 200mm rotors front and back. As usual quick and nasty so with what I've got hence the normal old style 10sp STI's, 26" wheels with MTB tyres (need some comfort), mechanical discs, 29" rigid fork. Might mess up the geometry but it's a tandem (26") does it matter? Will start putting the bits together during this week .... Pics to follow
  12. So many people including CSA questioning the unmentioned 5k rule that it'll probably end up being added again. You have to just shake your head..
  13. I did yesterday, a special day though... As you say no withdrawal and went out and had a blast this morning!
  14. Was just going to say at the circus the clowns are not in bloody charge!
  15. This is one of my pet peeves, when cyclists get singled out for some of other misdemeanor. This may come as a shock to some but let's take your '4%' scientific survey.... 4% of PEOPLE will behave in this manner no matter what walk of life they come from, be they cyclists, runners, drivers, bakers or hairdressers.. Those people generally act like that whether they are cycling, driving, shopping or just about any activity. Someday it'll dawn on many that some people are just idiots or at the very least don't confirm to your 'norm' They are out there, I've learnt to live with them and not let them spoil my Sunday Ce la vie
  16. The only thing I know is avoid the older Garmin ANT+ dongles, they work fine with Garmin devices but nothing else [emoji20]
  17. Sadly I think many parents return to work tomorrow and the opportunity they had to enjoy this may be lost but hopefully they'll at least still use weekend mornings!
  18. The 'Stasi' must be wringing their hands in despair, so much less to moan and whinge about from tomorrow... Besides the ones still trying to find reasons to keep some of those old rules. Skud my kop @'Dale carbo loading will commence this evening!
  19. The Highveld in winter, dreary and drab, still that deep blue sky and a bike ride somehow are soothing to the soul [emoji41]
  20. Totally agree with you, not mentioned and certainly would have been reiterated were it important... Let it go demmit
  21. Must be honest we've only sold two 2nd hand bikes, an XS 27.5 ladies and a kiddies 16" bike during this time. No new bikes, perhaps other shops have though ... lots of maintenance work being done
