  1. Cheers Shebeen, I could not have elucidated that point more coherently myself.
  2. Thanks Ray, you are one of many.
  3. You do actually.
  4. Thanks Bro Derek you get it now entirely.
  5. You acuse me of being high , I ask you to not get personal and I am out of kilter?
  6. YOu are having a laugh, surely? are folks truly upset by a low ball offer, do they run to their safe spaces and therapists? exploitative practices? are you high? I'm reiterating what has already been said on this site, on this forum, in the ratings and by so many others. I am not high at all, niether require a therapist, nor need to run to safe spaces. No need to get personal.
  7. Hello Prince Albert, thanks for chiming in. I have had a similar experince myself, there is often a comforting sense of justice in those moments.
  8. Sure Robyn, I am niether niave nor desperate but some are and there are so many alternative options.
  9. Thanks Zebra, I have been around this industry a while and I certainly am being niether dramatic, nor exagerating, especially when recently personally being offered less than 30% of an advertised price for my bike. The point made is simply to provide awareness of what this company has since this thread was created in 2022 and continues to employ as part of their Modus Operandi.
  10. Bro Derek, you are entitled to your view of this being, "incredibly dramatic", but clearly to many, this is upsetting otherwise we would not have the level of response that we and I personally have had. As a point of correction, "selling and buying", for some, can be a hugely emotional experience as I have witnessed on numerous occasions of both, extreme joy and distressing grief. I have also witnessed how people in states of absolute desperation have parted with much loved possesions including bicycles, because they have felt that there was no alternative option. These people have on occasion been exploited by company's who promise to offer, "a market related price", which is sometimes anything but, as is the case here with BikeMarket as can be witnessed with so many other voices on this thread. That's really at the nub of this its merely just about creating an awareness of my and others experiences, that is afterall a part of what this site, our communities participation and these forums are intended for.
  11. I love the sentiment Shebeen but it doesnt really solve the problem and quite frankly, given his level of commitment to responding to anything other than his stupid offers I doubt he gives a toss. I think most importantly he needs to be exposed so that as many peole as possible are aware of his business ethic.
  12. Yes Murrob, its remarkable how many people I am uncovering on Bikehub and privately that are truly upset by James and his organization and their exploitative practices.
  13. I wish there was even that level of professional courtesy Kom, let alone a response to my messages or calls.
  14. Thank you all for the support.
  15. Thanks Bro Derek for your opinion, clearly it doesnt absolutely align with the general sentiment on this site regarding BikeMarket's practices?
  16. Thanks guys for the responses. As a long time Hubber I just think that I have a responsibility as have others who have highlighted this issue to provide an awareness to others who maybe exploited by the likes of Bikemarket.co.za. Yes this was and is a personal issue but I do know that quite often people who are in compromised positions or situations of pressure are easily exploited. On another note this does no good for the reputation of the industry and people like James need to be exposed for who they are and what their, "business", strategies are. I have given him every opportuinty to speak to me without reply before I resurected this very lengthy previous post. I reiterate that I am not alone in my frustrations and feel the need to bring this issue to the fore yet again.
  17. I need to raise this old topic again as it continues relentless. I was just offered less than 30% of my advertised price by James from Bikemarket.co.za. I notice over and over again how Hubbers have mentioned the lowballing from this company and their radiculous offers. I left messages on Bikehub and with his staff to phone me, to which I have recieved no response. There are 7 hubbers who have mentioned it this year in the ratings alone and that is just those that have taken the time to rate the offers. Something seriously needs to be done about this guy and the organization. This is the grossest of exploitation.

  19. I sent you a PM Lechatnoir.
  20. I am so sorry to read this terrible story. I am very glad that you at least are okay but sad to hear that you lost your bike, I'm so sorry. I don't know what is left with regard to safe cycling routes and feeling very despondent after reading this.
  21. Hi Paul, I can help you with a new 7 speed shifter and cassette at a reasonable price. give me a shout on 082 783 8388. Thanks Neil.
  22. I am so sorry to hear about this Savages. I don't know how we are going to put an end to this horrific behaviour. Sadly I think that these incidents seem to becoming all the more violent and provide a microcosm of whats occuring around the country.
  23. Iv'e broken into the top 800 and will celebrate that.
  24. Thanks to Bikehub for putting this together. So here we go again, my relatively psychologically stable self is about to traverse that range of emotions normally associated with serious mental disorders. I hold you personally responsible for my anxiety, lack of sleep, OCD, ADD, dependant personality disorder and a whole bunch of other personality disorders as I contemplate my picks. This is just before we even get to the line, then as the race rolls out of town I suffer feelings of ebullience and depression all at the same time as my picked riders win and lose. I inflict self harm through over indulgence of too much beer in celebration or drowning of my sorrows as the daily post race results are made clear. My wife initially asks if she can assist as I sit in quite amazement as my top pick tumbles from the top 50 at the team time trial. In the 2nd week however she storms off to our room as I lose all sense of reality swearing at the screen as my top GC contender crashes out. My dog even retires as far away from me as possible as he gives up on his daily walk and my demeanor. The highs and lows as I move slowly up and then plummet down the log like a broken elevator are tantamount to bouts of bipolarism. Thanks Bkehub for testing that range of emotions that otherwise would not have pervaded my life, at least I am shown that even a normal even tempered guy can be inflicted by le Tour and the fantasy game. Thanks for bringing on that full range of emotions I wouldn't have it any other way..
  25. Hey Wayne so sorry to hear about your bike buddy. That's a real beauty I hope you somehow get it back. We all are only too aware how passionate a Colnago man you are. Good luck.
