i had the same problem with a bib from them... the padding basically pulled out of its stitching and came loose. within a few days they had sorted it out for me. was chuffed with the service. the same thing has happened to the replacement pair so ive just put it down to a design/stitching problem that might carry on with every replacement pair.
  3. morning, i found a bike computer along the Bluegums single track this morning. if its yours, i have it.
  4. for years i fitted two 29ers into the back of my Corsa. an XL and a S size. dropped the seats put a blanket down and put the smaller bike in which fitted ok then put a blanket over the bike and slotted the XL into the back with the back wheel resting on top of the passenger head rest. it was a shlep but was worth it!
  5. like i said after his reply, it came across as sarcastic, 'but thats just me' meaning thats how i (me, and only me) took it. maybe he didnt mean to be and thats fine. i read it one way... just like you read this thread and decided i was arguing with him when i clearly wasnt. as for using his reply as an excuse to support international online stores... really? thats what you take from it? nowhere do i say that... come on youre just being silly now. i wonder if youve actually read the thread or if youre just trying to wind me up, i dont get wound up by the way. im putting this to bed now... i always have bought from SA stores but if a deal comes up overseas that is clearly a good deal, ill take it thnx.
  6. thnx Wyatt im not sure i understand though... are you saying i should shop there because they sell fake PInarrellos, a road bike, while im looking for mtb brakes? are you saying CRC sell fake brakes now? im not after fake... im not sure what gave you that impression?
  7. i am not arguing with Naas, never have and dont think i ever will. its very simple, i looked at this thread as i am looking for brakes for myself and after looking at the links Nick (if you look back on the thread youll see it wasnt me) provided and Naas provided and after working out the Rand/Pound exchange and seeing it was quite a difference i asked what 'exrtras' such as import duties etc should i add to my total to get a true reflection on a total. im looking to go the best option for my pocket as i dont have millions to throw around. Naas pointed out that CRC are selling single as opposed to a whole set, youll see i 'liked' his post as way of saying i see that, thank you. ive looked back at the thread now and i cant see where im 'arguing' with Naas? Has the thread been edited maybe?
  8. I'm sorry I gave the incorrect pricing, I looked at the pounds price and multiplied by 17.7 which was the exchange rate yesterday. I went with 60 pounds instead of 59.99... Also, I never gave the OP the prices, I stated what I had worked out, as I'm looking to import brakes myself. I was asking it was cheaper to import adding in all the extra fees.
  9. just to clear something up, i never directed anybody to any sites...
  10. im ok with that. no worries.
  11. Thnx for clearing that up... the "uhm" and "so calculate again" is taken as sarcasm... something that would make me not shop at your place, but thats just me. a simple explanation would have done. thnx again.
  12. so it would still be cheaper to import rather than buy from a SA store...
  13. Chain Reaction at full price works out to R1593.00, discount is R1062.00 and Evo Bikes at discount are R3250.00 what are the import duties on the Chain reaction cycles goods?
  14. Ja! i was adamant that it would be reported and paperwork would happen. Was stoked that the Police were actually quite helpful. We going back to the station this afternoon to chat with the guys and see whats going on.
  15. theyre all great... 3 is my favourite. where do we buy them?
  16. On Monday afternoon i was cycling down Westlake Drive towards the traffic lights. I noticed a bicycle lying in the road, the rear wheel badly damaged. I moved the bicycle out the road as there were cars trying to use the lane. I then saw Charles standing on the side of the road trying to get someone to stop to help him. I spoke with Charles and with his broken English he told me that a women had driven into the back of him while he was at the traffic lights trying to get across from Steenberg Drive into Westlake Drive. She gave him no space and basically just road over his bike after he fell off. The women stopped, got out her car and shouted at him that it was all his own fault, checked her car for damage and left... no help for him at all. Charles got a pic of her car though before she sped off. We called the Police and they were there reasonably quickly. They were stoked there was a pic of the car and reg. For those that know the road its the only in and out from the business park. the women hadnt returned so they went looking for her and amazingly couldnt find her. I took Charles to the Police station and we filled out an accident report form and then also laid charges against the women driving the car. The Police also went to the owners house but of course nobody was home. We were also told that the only way we would get the owner to pay for the damages to the bike would be to go to court, until then Charles is left without transport. Im keeping an eye on things and phoning and asking what the latest is with the case etc in the hope i can help Charles not get 'left behind' being a Zimbabwean living in our country. Does anybody have a rear wheel and tyre lying around at home thats just gathering dust that they could give to Charles so he has transport again. He loves cycling and uses his bike for work transport but on the weekends goes riding and joins up with whoever he can find.
  17. a mate sent me this pic this morning, before someone flames me for using a cellphone while driving, of a cyclist being pulled over by a traffic officer just outside Sun Valley for running a red light... seems the cops will take action when they can. anybody on here recognise themselves?
  18. very well done! so cool to be able to read first hand experiences. no mention of any tyre issues, punctures etc... GEAX must be the way forward?
  19. if the club cant control its members then maybe when all its members are penalised or banned then the club as a whole will learn to discipline their members from day 1 and not once they beat innocent people up?
  20. John Maytham is discussing the incident on cape talk right now and is asking people to call in...
  21. Muhammadeyah Mission statement: To encourage and promote cycling in a manner conducive to good fellowship and sportsmanship. well done guys... you're really promoting!
