  1. @mecheng89, I deduce from your handle that you are fairly good with your hands. Can you maybe just pop-in at the old house with your toolbox over the weekend and fix the problematic door yourself? I don't think you are obliged to replace it, just make it functional again. It is most likely just a dirty rail or hinge. If it is a part that needs replacing just pop into Gelmar, cheap fittings galore And while you are there, just ask the guy to return his man-card to you, you will distribute it to someone worthy. Even if it isn't my responsibility, I would much rather do that than argue about it via lawyers.
  2. Sorry, this won't resolve your dispute actually. But it would just be interesting to know whether he ever took care of a home himself.
  3. Was his offer subject to the selling of a different property? Was it subject to obtaining a 100% bond from the bank? This gives some clues.
  4. I don't get some people. My mom just got the keys to her new place on Saturday. We moved in and cleaned the gutters(full of compost, so haven't been cleaned in a while), rainwater drain pipes(same) and fixed all the little niggles you forgot was there when you saw the house initially. But that is how we operate. We get in there ourselves and fix it. Sure, an undisclosed termite infestation or structural issue will be met with an immediate phonecall, but on the small stuff, just step up and fix it yourselves new home owners. To the OP, is the buyer a first-time home owner?
  5. I'm by no means a die-hard Max fan. He has always been very reckless in his overtakes, he actually calmed down the last two years in comparison with previously. But it is clear that the Merc has the upper-hand with their car since Brazil, so Max is trying everything in the book to try and win this championship. I am also by no means a LH44 hater. But somewhere along the lines, maybe since the Rosberg battle, I have just not appreciated the way he handles himself. What can't be argued is that this rivalry has brought F1 back to life. And typically one is forced to pick between one of the two protagonists. Max just got less unlikeable qualities for me. But both are exceptional drivers. Fingers crossed that we get relatively equal cars next year and maybe I can cheer on George Russel or Norris for the Championship battle....
  6. I'd hate to admit it, but I was also waiting with baited breath for the 44 car to just lose the back-end in those final laps and slide softly into the wall, snapping only the driveshaft... Max finishing 1st and the Drivers championship settled then and there... But alas, we go to the final race and it will all come down to which one finishes ahead of the other. Obviously some other scenarios also in play: Both DNF = Max Wins. (Most wins in season) LH-P9, MV P10+Fastest Lap = Max Wins. (Most wins in season) My gut says we are going to see high-drama at that final race, won't be a simple Qualy and run to the line for either one of these two.
  7. Glad I tuned in, that was mental! Nobody could have scripted this season any better. Equal on points going into the final race. What would actually be fun to watch is if these two need to race each other in the final race from about P9 and P10 on the grid for one reason or another.
  8. So much drama, and safe to say, much more on the way I would think
  9. The DA asked questions in June 2021 about something in his past and why he was appointed to the Olympics Squad with this on his record. From there I just connected the dots to paint a picture of what this is all about.
  10. Thank you, found a news article from June 2021, I am now up to speed. Sometimes it is very sad how slowly the wheels turn on these things.
  11. What did he do or didn't he do? I remember chatter during the Games that athletes were left to fend for themselves and Mechanics from other federations had to assist in some instances, is this related to that?
  12. Fantastic! So I can just revert to my standard approach: ABE (Anyone But England)
  13. England, Ireland and France are well poised to overtake us if they have a solid 6 Nations campaign. Thus, I will be rooting heavily vir Scotland, Wales and Italy when the tournament kicks off
  14. Fantasic strategy.... to finish 3rd, 4th ,5th, 6th in the GC standings behind the Slovenians...
  15. What I think Werner meant was: it was a handcycle that was leading the motorcycle that was leading that bunch....
  16. Actually quite spooky to see it move like that.... some paranormal societies might claim this video for their own purposes...
  17. I agree with you, this is common sense in a road race and even though I feel bad for the people that came down there I don't think taking the organizers to court is the way to handle this. Will be keeping an eye on this to see what their intentions are. But my gut tells me something is brewing here.
  18. I see this as a class action lawsuit coming against the organizers for abdicating their responsibilities to ensure the route is safe for riders. Alternatively, taking them on for not fixing the issue once the first rider fell. I hope they have insurance against this type of thing. All I can add is that I started in D-Batch, got dropped very quickly by the lead riders. And by the time I passed this specific section at around 10h07 the organisers had already put barriers in place to force you to cross the slot in a specific place where there was a rubber mat.
  19. If Hamilton has some kind of issue at the Saudi Race Weekend and does a DNF, Verstappen can finish off the Championship by finishing 2nd in the race... https://www.thesouthafrican.com/motoring/motorsport/how-max-verstappen-can-win-his-maiden-f1-title-in-saudi-arabia/
  20. That is an insanely good time if you started at 8h20 and did it all on your own. And your first race on top of that?! Well Done! My nomination for ride-of-the-day...
  21. 4 of them were blown over. I can see how it can happen that one of them could have drifted into the extraordinary position shown below. Stuff happens. Do you suspect foul play? Or what plausible suggestion do you bring to the table?
  22. I also liked Soccer City. Coming from PTA, it is further than the previous venue for me, but definitely worth the effort. Lots of space and the access routes described in the Rider Brief was accurate for me to get in and out efficiently. Congestion at the Loading gate was fine, seemed better than previous editions of the race. There was a bit of congestion inside the stadium after finishing when passing the podium, but it might have only been an issue when I passed as that was the exact moment they were presenting the winners of the Mens and Womens ELITE races. Don't know if anyone else experienced congestion there? Route commentary: I think the route is fine, you just need to be strategic about your matches and leave plenty for climbing Jan Smuts, plenty of sharp inclines there that will destroy overused legs. I think Jan Smuts will break more people next year if we have the heat returned to the 35°C windstill conditions.
  23. I'm glad someone saw the light and they are reviewing: "Upon further inspection of the footage, it became clear that the markers were in place a short while earlier when the elite men passed the same area. We now believe that the markers were displaced by the downdraft and gust caused by the helicopter which flew low in this section of the route while filming the men’s race. The organisers regret not having a marshall positioned there to correct the situation. We believe that Emma appealed the decision based on the video footage supplied. As event organisers, we don’t act as commissaires, but we will supply time split times, photos and video footage if it will assist in resolving the appeal process. The 947 Ride Joburg team hopes that this will be resolved swiftly and fairly."
  24. Was just about to type that too. That storm on Saturday night might have put people off riding on what we all expected to be wet roads.
  25. The number of participants has been trending downwards for a while now. According to Racetec: 2015 - 21535 2016 - 20349 2017 - 19991 2018 - 18378 2019 - 15829 This is Overall Finishers, so will include Official Double Lappers too, I would think.
