  1. Glad you are OK! Where did this happen, as I also live in the northern suburbs.
  2. Only carb drink you need after a ride is beer.
  3. Well done met die keuse op die ou end. Dis 'n vrek mooi raam daai! Sterkte met die bou! Hoop als gaan goed. Post daai pics!
  4. Cool. Was just wondering. happy riding!
  5. Have been wondering about this. When using 650b wheels on a 26er frame, what are the effects on the frame angles and associated stresses (if any) etc? Dunno if this has been asked before...
  6. Last year I upgraded my wheelset and was initially tempted to get the subrosa rims with hope pro 2 hubs. Eventually, when I wanted to order they did not have stock of the green rims anymore, so I went with ZTR Flow rims and hope pro 2 hubs. Great wheelset, not looking back one second. Strong, stiff and really not that heavy (if weight bothers you)
  7. 710mm bar , 50mm stem, 150mm travel. Luxurious riding I tell you.
  8. Well done on the track! I believe the race is this coming weekend? 12/13 May?
  9. How long is a long endurance ride? Did TB and Hell&Back both with baggies and had no problems... Guess it could be a problem on 6 or 8 day stage rides, but I would not know that answer...
  10. Entered last night, we are 3 guys and a girl mixed team "Geen Haas". Looking forward! My second TB (first 2008), rest of team's first one. Time to get off the couch. NOW.
  11. Have not owned a mx/enduro bike, but have ridden lots of times. I SHALL own an enduro bike, one of these sunny days. Some days I just wish my Shova had an engine...
  12. Also grew up there, riding our Avalanche Reflex bikes, Haro Escape's, Nishiki Flite's and the like, suffering falls, man oh man, steep learning curve it was down that dh track. After a few falls, a helmet became compulsory otherwise I was'nt allowed to leave the house... Good times as you said.
  13. Would be awesome to have the track restored. Erosion really ruined it over the years.
  14. Time to confess. Was on a On One 456 summer season, with knobblies. Started with friends from OC, 09:48. Already hot then. Felt good all the way past misty cliffs, but from Kommetjie I was done. Not nearly enough nutrition on the way and not enough to drink. Was a real rookie mistake, as I am used to this kind of "survival cycling" if you want to call it that. Anyway, found a nice bossie on chapmans to hide from the sun for a while. Lost about 30-45min due to having absolutely no power. Never felt that weak on a bike, jeez it was bad. Took an energy gel and some cramp block. Last squeeze of water and got back on the bike. Top of chapmans filled the camel with water, took two cokes and hit the road. Rode from there to the finish without a problem. Took a rehydrat last night and feeling real good today actually. Never going to forget to eat again. It was a really crap experience that part between kommetjie and top of chapmans. Couple that to general unfitness and you're in for disaster. Last week's 52km MTB argus might have played a role as well... Anyway, finished in 6h09min. Sore butt, but that's it really. A new low for me, since 2008 when I did a 3h14, I could never again break 4h on the Argus. Eish.
  15. I've got a 456 Summer Season. I'd recommend it. Nice ride and can handle what you throw at it. Great bike, great price!

Anyone got indications of the start times for the 52? Can't seem to find it on the website.
  18. Agree with all above. Have the RP 23 on the shova st, mostly running it open, with an occasional lockout, maybe. So all the extra propedal features goes unused. If it ever needs to be replaced, don't think I'll pay extra to get the 23...
  19. There's your answer.
  20. Friend of mine got a crash replacement almost a month after the 3 year period, so it may by worthwhile to go check with them.
  21. Noted. Thanks
  22. Great, cheers.
  23. Oh yeah, I forgot, you need the original proof of purchase...
  24. 3 years. Take it to your dealer. They will send it away and usually you get a replacement helmet (has to be the same model) at a fraction of the price.
