  1. WAX - very much fun, hot ladies and you are silky smooth for 3 weeks or so!
  2. ja that sounds about right. Normally tires range from R300 - R400per tire x 2 = R600 - R800 for tires. Might even get more expensive, but that's my limit to where I shop
  3. Best pedal stroke comes from training on a Roller once and a while. resistance is low, you need to balance, so both legs must do the exact same otherwise you are off balance. you can focus on circles. Nice topic though

I don't know about the full water proof - most of them are so hot and you sweat more than it actually rains. I've got a windbreaker - FA dheuz - its water resistant - what this means in real terms are - they keep most of the water out - but you feel cold inside as the material sticks to your skin. I would buy a more puffy / windbreaker like the cape storm I Posted - will stay dryish and still be warm enough to keep the water freeze off your skin.

  7. This looks much better!!! Don't mind riding any brand as long as I don't feel ripped off. Spat where did you get these ? When will these prices kick in you recon ?
  8. Yep - Cyclesure - easy to insure and great service so far. There's a few others as well Google it...
  9. The Second hand market is going to boom in a few months time as older stock is almost depleted in most shops around SA. All the Vets / older guys (Who can afford expensive stuff) will make more on their older bikes when they upgrade because the new prices is just to crazy for what you get. RC 8000 - 40K and you get Sram Force --- mad I tell you. So I'll post all the prices here and in a month or 2 one can search this again and see if the prices changed or not .... Tying the knot to "Ride" can cost you your carbon wheels and your bike in the long run. Expensive way to go for a "ride"
  11. Would go for the Merida - Easy service and easier to get. Cube - very nice bike, great to be different, but you need to import this and all the schlep if something goes wrong or you need replacement etc. So - MERIDA
  12. Would be crap if it was him! Well consider yourself lucky if you get tested a lot that means that your up there with the Winners. Not many other randoms in die bunch get caught - they either don't dope or don't get caught. Like I heard a guy say a while back - If all of them doped the same riders would come out on top, and if no one doped the same guys would still finish on top - if your good and work hard you'll make it to the top.
  13. Big ben laat die "?" key *** - no anger ? I'm not too sure. This Poll is interesting - weird that ppl would like to talk other sh*t as well
  14. Racing all the way - the only way you better yourself. Alternate between hilly routes and flats - this way you train climbing to the max and also sprinting/ time trialing. Get a buddy who is a bit stronger than you this way you always need to push hard. The best is to ride with strong older guys who race vets etc - they will never back down and race all the way., so this way you get maximum training. This is really the best and only way. The week before the race - well do chill rides just to loosen the legs a bit and keep all the energy on level - if you don't ride the nerves and excitement get to you and then your cooked - no way to think and do a smart race. RACING in training is the way to go - You only improve yourself
  15. Jerra But it sounds like a good idea.I will give it a try 2night. Does anyone know who has stock of the old Topeak Moonshine battery? LOL This is the best reply I ever had - Your cracking me buy yourself the Petzl Tika XP - it can spot and spray the beam and it can adjust up and down a few degrees - works very good on the helmet. Will send some pics if necessary. You basicly just undo the straps (by pushing the end strap with the flat pastic strap end through the rectangular plastic stap thing where the stap end fits on). look in the book of scroll the net to see how to undo the stapping. Easy if you just think about it and check it out. You have to turn it to get through the plastic stap holder any other way it will not go through. ITS a weird thing to explain in words how to do
  16. if its too confusing I will look for pictures to demostrate what I mean or I will take pics tonight
  17. NO ppl - let me Explain. You don't need to permanently put it on your helmet. The best one is the tikka XP either way the all work te same Just loosen the buckle - where the 2 ends meet - push the flat/end part through the opening - so that the 2 ends are loose with the light in the middle. now put the light on your helmet and push the one end of the strap through the side front air vent do the same on the other side. pull them through then push each one out the back side of the helmet. Now the straps are through the helmet and the light is on the center of the helmet in the front. What you do now is pull both straps out the back on the top and push the one through the other so the strap is back to normal, now you can tighten if needed. This works wonders - easy to put on and off. does not bounce around even on the most hectic mtb bike rides. Did the transbaviaans last year with one on my head and one on my bar - enough light.
  18. Cool. Where did you do the BG setup - at a shop or do they have more technical stores that do that ? Most of ITB stuff come from the hips/lower back area anyway and then comes out as pain on the side of the knee. Big H - yeah ITB mostly a running injury / problem but in my case the pain is on the side of the knee at the small bone there and on the back of the knee - after my ride. I can run for as long and as far as I like - No pain whatsoever
  19. Steriods - geen crankarm verlenging nodig nie
  20. yeah, still waiting for him to reply. but according to him a few months ago I didn't need those - normal shoes will be fine
  21. bump - more info on shims and inserts. No one has problems with ITB or knee pain ?
  22. Another Quesetion. Still struggling with knee problems from my ITB. The fisio that I'm at right (benita de witt) now is not keen on built ins or any other shims and wedges. They belive one's body should addapt and be strengthend to work for your spesific sport in a natural position and setup. What it feels to me is my meft knee moves side to side when pedalling - thus creathing a sircle, while my right leg seems to do the job - up and down only I've heart from ppl that had similar problems who went to weages and stuff and its fixed now. What do you gus reccomend?
  23. Did not say I can afford any of the above or that I can go out and buy it right now - said That I will save up and buy. Campy is good but expensive. DA - as said has gone backwards a bit and with the higher price I'm not sure if its worth it - would then rather buy the older version. Sram Red - well heard that the casette makes a bike noise when shifting ? Would Sram red work with a DA casette and chain and rest sram ?
  24. Not really sure about the prices but in that range. I want to save up for a new bike and do a decent setup. I know most of us on the hub don't ride these top of the range groupsets, but those with experience on these please comment. Keen on putting them on a Cervelo Soloist carbon frame
