  1. AMAZING isn't it. Don't be rude.
  2. Thanx a lot guys - looks like I ddn't miss the pot that much Here is my mesurements : Road Crank length 172.5 Seat height 71.3 From middle of BB Layback 7 from te BB Drop 5.5 high from seat to handlebar Reach 65.7 for seatpost to handlebar TopTube 54.5 Stem 110 This is how it should be.. according to Jeroen's Setup
  3. So I got a really great setup, and according to my setup done by Jeroen Swart, my top tube length should be 54cm, on my current bike its a bit shorter. I'm looking at new bikes now, Does the top tube length play any other role other than reach to the handle bars ? Surely one can fix this with a longer/shorter stem ? What other important things come to play with frame size. Everyone knows that frames come in XS S M L XL But lets say in Medium there is frame size 50 52 54 56 just for example - not sure witch fall into what catogory. So does a 51 cm frame differ that much from a 54 cm frame ? Most of the mesurements are the same on the website for a spesific brand, but somthimes the only mesurement that differ is the length of the TOP tube and sometimes the Head tube. What is your opinion on this topic ?
  4. Really like to watch international races and yesterday I was so happy to be able to have a off day and watch the race. I was so unhappy when I heard Arno 's voice - I mean - Its just not half of Phill L voice - and apart form the sound the content differs a lot. Watched the race - was happy that it was broadcasted and at least with English commentary. What these guys commentated was just shocking - it was like reading and saying it out loud. Nothing they said couldn't bee seen on tv. Shocking - so useless. Would rather prefer french then - the commentators at least sound interesting and excited. Was glad SS broadcasted the event, but if one of the commentators cant undersstand and translate french or italian then there is no use for commentators babeling on about how a bunch works and how slipstream / feedzones / teamtactics / name it works. I mean the ppl who watches a random midweek race like that - knows most of the basics and more - this is not the tour where random non cyclist watch and need some extra info on the highligh show. Really guys (Arno and Andrew) - WTF ? Learn something beforehand about the race and the area and create your own interesting show...
  5. must have the white, black and red combo - the best ever. I'm very full of sh*t when it comes to frames. Looking at a new road bike now but all the "bargains" are not my color. Sucks having a fav and sticking to it - everything else does not make sense!! Not a fan of blue - everything else aah can maby live with that (Normal colors though, nothing pink or orange)
  6. Then why do you bring this up ? Need to post some prove...
  7. Post it
  8. they should put steel poles into the tar or something, otherwise the taxis will use it - very nice
  9. Yep this is correct. People differ and so does everyone way to loose those unwanted fat ect. Depending on how you train and how motivated you are. some ppl are happy to loose 10kg in a year while some want and will loose 1kg in a week or 2weeks. All depends on how motivated and consistant you are.
  10. Love the Sram red Look on a bike - any of you that have ridden shimano and now sram - the comfort of the hoods are presumably crapper on sram - can you confirm or comment ? looking at a new bike ect ... o yes, got Shimano now - road that is (just for info shimano on mtb aswell)
  11. Very inspiring. I also try and stick to a eating plan but man I struggle to stay away from sweet stuff every now and again. Feel very bad once I've spend a weekend doing nothing and just being "normal". There is a very important balance between being to hard on yourself / healthy and just not caring. I am normal to skinny but can loose a few kg or at least fat. Need to keep running but had a problem with my 1 knee, so that sucks. Any of you ever considered putting on a HR monitor in the morning and so calculating burned calories, and then also determine the amount of calories you take in? Know this is maby a bit extreme - me walking around the office with a HR monitor -- mmm maby not a bad idea?
  12. I try and stay healthy - drinking water instead of soft drinks ect. Try to incorporate most of the nutrients in a day - protein, carbs ect. Do a bit of running for extra strength and fitness and also do rockclimbing for a additional break / to keep it interesting.
  13. Hey If your reading this cycling is probably you primary sport or at least your doing either social or competitively. Was wondering what you guys are doing for extra training/ fitness and to get in shape or stay in shape. Diet --- do you eat cautiously, look at what you eat or do you just try and stay healthy. If you don't have something to add that please don't make joke about it. Add some diets / healthy habits and additional training stuff
  14. HAHA - why all the counting then - just make up numbers - the "right" party also wins in the eyes of the ppl - ballets can be thrown away- bags of them
  15. Voting day is so hectic - how long after the voting will they bring out the results ? I know the recount most of the time, but a week or what ? Sucks that they have to actually count stuff - why not electronic all the way and boom at the end of the day its all counted and the next day its out? This is africa but were not that far behind
  16. Think its Doping guys dropping out , Economy (harder for sponsors to have big teams / lots of riders), most guys are just trying something different, like track guys who used to do road races during their "training season" are staying on track and not doing the dual thing. Guys are becoming more specialized in one discipline. Not entirely sure but that's my guesses
  17. Hey man sorry to hear about this. There was a tread of 3 bike selling on Gumtree for some crazy low price. (Must be stolen ones or really crap bikes) was something like 8000 for the lot. Not saying its your bikes but you never know. Your in GP - think those bikes were on the WC gumtree section, not sure. The MERIDA tfs500 is going for around 8K - that's right. Not so sure about the GT's - I'm not up to date with those models, but I believe that's what it will go for aswell. Most prices differ with a few hundred here and there. Good luck with buying a new bike
  18. why black and silver - I wont buy it if I cant get it in that black and white.
  19. we should start nibbling on taxi driver ears - suppose it will taste like liquorish ?
  20. No comment
  21. the police I so fken USELESS ... "Ehe , eish you shouldn't have stopped wena, these tjotsies are dangerous" and they even speak like there is no BRAIN
  22. Good luck Eric - Other thing - when you guys are cycling past there - be at least 2 riders - this way you can at least be more wake up and chances are you wont be bugged. Had the same problems with these gangster/F(*&nuts. They also like to walk in front of you and "block" the yellow lane so you need to pass in the car lane with cars flying by at speed. Don't highfive the smaler kids when they walk alongside the road - you know they sometimes stand there holding their hand out for you to highfive - never had a probelem but imagine the guy grab your arm or something - just ignore these kids and try and stay safe. F - up that this has to be a problem. They just need to put up a camera like in the rest of Sbos- if somthing then happens you at least have footage to make a scene with and hopefully catch these fkers. I know Im sounding a bit positive for a SAcan ... haha got to keep beliving. Like a friend always say : "Things will not be better in the future, we just need to hope that it will stay the same a now!! "
  23. Hey PPL. Was looking through the Scheldeprijs photos and again noticed all/most of the riders wearing huge wrist watches ? Why is this when you can have everything on the bike mounted display ? I mean - you have cadence HR, watt everything - even day time - so why wear a normal watch with all this ? It seem a bit odd to use it as, its more a mission to look on the watch than on the bike mounted meter/ speedo. I never wear a watch, everything I need to know I can see on my Sel / Mobile phone. So a watch stands out for me, not so common for me. The only reason , stupid actually , I can think of why they would wear a watch is to see Calories burned throughout the day before and after the race, and maybe for when they change bikes. Just a random Question - makes for interesting talk. Add some other random stuff you guys don't understand / or have Questions about the why
