  1. Thanks Tubehunter. That was one of my options, but was not sure of whether that route will be good for cycling. How is the traffic on those roads at the normal commuting times?
  2. As we are relatively new to Cape Town I need some advice to the best route to take when commuting to my companies new offices in Plumstead from the Table View area. According to Google Maps the shortest is to go up Main Road for most of the way, but I have heard that this can be a nightmare. Does anyone have some suggestions as to what route will be the best for me to ride, and first prize will be for me if I could join someone one morning for a ride, as I am not that familiar with all the roads in Cape Town yet.
  3. Stupidity at its best. Unfortunately there are no pills available for that...
  4. Good to know. Looking out for my message/mail...
  5. Are those of us who put our names on this tread seen as clients that pre-ordered the PowerCal?
  6. Is there any feedback on this yet? Would love to see the test results etc.
  7. Hi Johan Please can you keep me updated on this planned Cape Town course. I was considering flying up to do a course, but if you are coming down here, it would fit me better.
  8. Clint_ZA, what the heck are you trying to prove with your retorts the whole time? An argument takes 2 parties. Today it was you versus TheHub. You are not all innocent. How the hell a topic on carrying tools got to be 13 pages long, nobody knows. Just saying, maybe it will help everyone if we all decide from here on to simply shut the heck up...
  9. LOVIT!!!
  10. Same here. Put me on the list please, as I will take is as of yesterday, was it already available.
  11. This is great news. Have been looking for a PowerTap for a while now, but I simply cannot afford them. This will give me a solution for better training.
  12. Was looking at them as well. At R999 at CWC they are not badly priced either.
  13. Awesome. Seriously considering making the switch from SPD's
  14. So you would say this is a good deal then? http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/time-atac-alium-pedal
  15. IMO, if you want to ain properly during a spinning class, a HRM is a must have.
  16. Me and a mate is planning on doing this. Luckily we have already lined up a possible sponsor, so we must now simply enter and get the training done. Going to be awesome.
  17. Love this Slowbee. Thanks for sharing.
  18. In a big way I am with you on this. I would rather have a proper 26" that I know I am comfortable on, and know that my own ability is not a limiting factor anymore before I will start to look at wheel size and a new bike. Own ability will always outweigh the perceived added benefit of a bigger wheel for me. But, should I be buying a new bike, I will obviously consider the wheel size as well, along with the level of components and what I want on my bike.
  19. One day, when I have lots of money again I will be able to upgrade my X7 shifters to these gripshifts.
  20. Thanks for that. Like the one judge said, it makes all that stuff we worry about seem like nothing.
  21. Tokai will definitely see me soon, as will the Durbanville routes...
  22. I do only have a real bike yes. Won't catch me on a thin wheeled thingy...
  23. Thanks Hairy. We are renting in a place in Sunset Beach currently.
  24. OK, so this is probably where I need to introduce myself then, just to keep things clear and in the open. I am coenie, a mtbiker. We recently moved down to Cape Town from Centurion, so still need to make some connections down here in order to hopefully build up relationships wrt training etc. Luckily I have not tried to sell anything on here yet, but I did buy my bike from the Hub.

I was just looking at the Storm 1.0 standing in FPC here in Lynnwood. Seriously good looking bike. Price was a bit more though. R24500 if I remember correctly.
