  1. And you my friend needs to open your eyes, and stop looking for contradictory theories to all and sundry. But, as has been said, if you feel comfortable testing this out personally, feel free, and please let us know about the outcome of said tests, IF YOU ARE ABLE TO!!
  2. It is not blind faith, it is called physics and structural engineering. I am by no means an expert, but I know enough for this to make sense, and what you are saying to be utter bollocks to me.
  3. Dude, really? It split open due to it absorbing the shock, which would otherwise have been absorbed completely by your scull, ie cracked open skull!!! go fall on a rock with the helmet, cracking/splitting the helmet. Once you have done that and did it again without the helmet. Then come with your story back to us, if you are still alive.
  4. Nice. Pulling fights from other threads over to your own one. I assume you like to boks. Back to the topic, whether you want to believe it is safe to cycle without a helmet or not is up to you, but it is law, yes law, in our country to wear a helmet. I feel safer wearing one, and would not be without one on my bike. If you, like many other enjoy disregarding the law, in any way, carry on.
  5. That is Bloody Awesome, don't you think?
  6. Who might those be?
  7. If you pay the full entry, I will partner with you.
  8. Nope, just disturbing.
  9. What is funny about that. It is DISTURBING!!!!
  10. I have seen a BearingMan or something in Voortrekker Rd up on the Epping/Goodwood side.
  11. How did you come to know about this JPC?
  12. coenie
  13. Good idea, but also good luck with that. If you manage, let me know as well.
  14. There we go. The Craft Elite Bibs is the best in my opinion as well. They are the ones you should have received from Old Mutual.
  15. Chunky will be mightily offended if you don't consider him...
  16. Yep. He has been doing it for ever though, and every time I see it, it grates the crap out of me. Just needed to help my friend onto the correct path here.
  17. I am planning on doing it under the Participate for Good flag, and solo this time. Think I will be able to pull the companies I am involved in to sponsor some big time money to the cause, which will lend me a 'free' entry to this EPIC ride. (wayne, see, I did it as well)
  18. Dude, go read his name again, CAREFULLY!!!! D-I-P-S-L-I-C-K, not dipstick. Rant off...
  19. I have not made Ostrich stew before, but I am very fond of braaiing or frying Ostrich fillets. I will marinade it for about 30 minutes in Balsamic Vinegar, and then get to cooking. Just make sure you do not overcook it. It tastes best medium-rare, but medium is fine as well. Anything more, in this form tastes like cardboard.
  20. It is never nice to hear stories like this, but is part of our sport, is it not, and we all go into a ride, not knowing what might happen. I pray he recovers quickly, and that the 10% possibility turns into a 100% DID!
  21. That is true, and the size of the thing makes it even better. None of the small iffy little LED jobbies anymore!
  22. Hey, is that a picture of SwissVan?
  23. Ordered mine this afternoon.
  24. Nobody said it is cool what he did, not even MTBsaaiklist himself. The fact is however he is willing to face the music, even here on a public forum, and for that, I am willing to admit that he has bigger balls than me. Would you be man enough to come out and confess everything, were you in his shoes? And don't just say yes, because you will have to really try and place yourself in his shoes...
  25. No no my friend. L on your forehead...
