  1. panda seem good - there was a thread on them about 2 weeks ago
  2. thanks pal - you know of one that costs less than that 1k for the first visit??
  3. Hi guys, A friend of mine is a former track pro and has suggested that I start taking protein shakes to loose weight and improve my riding. Is this wise? Also... which brand? Thanks
  4. cyclechallenge@highveld.co.za - that is the addy she replied on when I ranted about the death of that guy
  5. I agree with Zidane. If you have a point you want to raise: speak to Geoff. If you think the place is not up to your standards then dont go there. There are many of us who love the place and remember that a lot of newbies look at this site so by dissing it you could be ruining it for them - who knows the newbie may go there once, love it and decide they need a new bike - which they buy from the hub! One big happy family. Just stop dissing the park.
  6. sorry wolvie they just stoopid to mess wif ya!! do you at least have an mtb?
  7. di' date=' there is also that stuff known as "two-step". i believe it's some sort of agricultural compound?[/quote'] It's a pesticide, so-called because after ingesting you take 2 steps before dropping dead. Guy at work tried it out on his boss and colleagues earlier this yr. So Di CPD is really: Detective inspector, Crime Prevention Division, then? Haha Di CPD is the person formerly known as "that cow". Retired junior SPCA inspector - there was greatness attached to me until "that $#@! "(female dog" forced me to resign because i was too hard on animal abusers. Apparently you are supposed to have a cuppa tea and make friends. Bugger that - go in get dog, ask questions later!! I will not bore you with what can kill your dogs but basically - if it takes away your pain or comes from a hardware it can kill. My dog ate Nervuton the other day - 53 tabs - and I flipped until I noticed its all natural. Made him paranoid hyper.
  8. oh!forgot to mention - the powder will likely be asprin based like grandpa or something like panado. in george i investaged a bunch of panado poisonings
  9. Thanks Spidy Last night' date=' from my property, since having a poisoning a while back my dogs sleep indoors at night. Live in Pierre van Ryneveld [/quote'] I do the same since finding a sausage filled with some powder in my garden. Took it to the police and they werent interested saying i first had to have the sausage analysed myself to determine what the contents were then if i still wanted to i could come back and report it. go to the SPCA. Dont like them but they may help - plus it gets them agro so they will give good advise. Otherwise, go back to the cops say that the sausage contains a poison of unknown origin.
  10. sorry - i accidentally hijacked this thread everyone - back to the bike issue. wonder if you can get netstar for a bike?
  11. Nope - was a scumbag robber who shot him. Guard approached him and the guy started firing. The guards were fleeing when the one got murdered. Kinda ruined my weekend and week - stupid here is the security trustee for the complex.
  12. Why' date=' what did he do? [/quote'] Well...... we placed them at the river to patrol and an idiot came and started shooting at the 2 guards. the one guy fell and got shot in da head. Some dude came into our complex the night before - thats why we had them there. kinda having had a dead guy outside.
  13. you see the perps?

    New mtb'er

Welcome to thehub!!! For us to give you accurate and amazing advice we need a few details from you - give us the link to those bikes so we can check it out for you. Here are reviews from a site I like: http://www.mtbr.com/cat/older-categories-bikes/bike/gt/outpost-trail/PRD_348855_91crx.aspx http://www.mtbr.com/cat/older-categories-bikes/2003-hardtail/schwinn/mesa/PRD_361609_1510crx.aspx Buy a good second hand bike. You generally get a better bike for your buck but take my advice: buy from the guys here - in general you will be taken care of. I bought a bike from a guy here a few weeks ago. I was going to go with a bike from the Junkmail but the guys took me under their wing and prevented me being ripped off. Yes, I am paying double what I wanted to pay but the guy is letting me pay it off. I now have an AMAZING bike that will see me through many kms. Go for a better bike, dont be budget fixed. Final word: want to go for a ride sometime when you have a bike? Let us know!!
  16. Bike setup not correct. Grumpf. That means the road bike never been right. Used to bug post ride after 1st setup, now bugs during rides and after. got new saddle so re-set bike up. getting great times though. back to the bike shop for me!! thanks
  17. okay... seeing as we are on this topic: what to do if you get a pain in that tendon (think that is what that thing is) that is behind your knee? Back right of right knee? Only bugs me after about 50km riding and if it does not bugg me during the ride it hurts like a banchee for a day or 2 after.
  18. OK and then when a car does hit them' date=' the whole cycling comunity grab their "mirror kick shoes", "middle fingers" and verbal abuse towards any other type of road user. There are true idiots out there. I have a pair of blokes riding without helmets AND next to each other every morning in a single lane road who simply refuse friendly advise when it is given. I gave up, but I willl not cry foul when they become victims of their own stupidity.[/quote'] yep! wonder if they fell on their heads yet but have not learnt their lessons!
  19. Organ donors!
  20. well done!!! name and shame. pity we cant ban them
  21. Take the Cruz
  22. Think i gonna post a thread - rude mtb racers
  23. yes, in my dreams
  24. I have a theory based on reading all of this: It seems as if hubbers greet other cyclists, so therefore it is the non-hub cyclist who does not greet and is not linked to being a roadie or a dust muncher!
