  2. Hi guys, is there a ride profile available yet >? Thanks :-)
  3. I agree with Chavo.... the difference is 2 settings compared to 5
  4. Hi there :-) I also bought for girlfriends bike :-) Says up to 200m so that should work
  5. Hay there Dissipline, Got the bike out the box, so all new components. After about 4/5 rides of a shortish distance, I had a jockey wheel fall out, and from what I've read, this is a regular occurrence. so maybe extra lock tight on those bolts. in terms of skipping gears, I also had this problem. I adjusted the barrel, I got top end shifting nice, and the bottom end shifting nice, but middle jumping like skippy the bush kangaroo... The problem seemed to be a slight bend in the hanger, a little fall or knock can send it out, I even got told that a bit of pedal force come send it out a little, so have a look from behind and see if it looks to hang at a slight angel. Good luck
  6. HHHhahhahahhaahhahhhh... Thats funny
  7. what an awesome ride :-) The 60km is a proper MTB ride, I have done the 30 before and know that is one of the hardest 30's you can do, but the 60, what a treat, the views was just stunning, but you had to be careful while taking it in, as one small lack in concentration could spell pain :-) Thanks for that report ChrisF :-) The end of this event is also very special with local craft beer and Potjie competition :-)
  8. See you there :-) 60km Boooom
  9. This is the best event in the whole of the western cape... Waiting for entries to open... If you haven't done this event, and you can ride single track, then this event is for you... Be warned, its awesome
  10. I have done the 30km which is a lot of climbing over the distance, and as advertised, one of the toughest rides on the calendar for that distance. The last couple of years I have done the 60km. so the same as the 30 but then some... Well worth doing it if you have the fitness, but make sure you stay switched on, as there some tricky loose rocky sections. The views are amazing and the vibe at the end is always fab ..
  11. The slog was real in that wind, but still really enjoyed it :-) Im Still waiting for my time to come up... There seems to be a problem with my time chip, I friend was tracking me, and it only showed me passing over some of the mats and no finish... Have sent info off to info@racetec... The main reason for my post is to see if the guy that went over the edge coming down from Chappies towards Hout bay, Taken by the wind gust.. I think it was a Quebeka kitted guy... some of his riding friends stopped to help him. As we went round the next the next bend and looked back, the Bush had saved him, but he looked a good 5 meters or so down.. Hope your ok dude...
  12. This is the best introduction you could ask for in terms of Stage riding... Its very relaxed, great vibes at the end of each day... Done this event for the last 5 or 6 years.. Thats how good it is..
  13. Euodia cycles posted that all trails are down, with damage to bridges, route markers and fallen trees. the only part open is top loop at Sumaridge.. All very sad news
  14. I'm lucky enough to be close to STBB in town, just collected mine, plus two others, No need to bring there board or anything. The girls there are most helpful Until Saturday Have an awesome ride all ....
  15. What an awesome ride, great test for the legs on the 66km :-) Views was amazing, wind was a bonus to keep us cool on the long climbs. definitely had to keep it tight on the downs, the thing that got me most was how bumpy the track was, it was hard to get a good pedal stroke going, and the in and out of the saddle, got the lower back to cry a little. But what an awesome ride. They just need to sort out bring extra gallons of beer I was proper in the mood Thanks Tiletoria and PPA. be there next year for sure
  16. Hi guys :-) You can cycle round to dam, this has always been an option but it really is easy to ride across the floating bridge if your up for it :-) There is a small drop down onto it, use this to get the momentum started, just keep looking in front of you and Not at your front wheel Then just keep the pedals moving at a reasonable cadence. Hope you give it a try

  23. Welcome to Hub land..Given the one day ride in did in the area, I would say no to doing the extreme, but there is the lite,(2days) which is about 35km a day and sounds very doable.. another event to consider is the Houw Hoek 2 day, its not timed and very relaxed but has a little more distance and climbing, so depending on where your at really. Enjoy what ever you decide
  24. they sent early bird entries out already, so if you are on there mailing list, Bingo... So happy to report that my entry is completed and paid
