  1. Thanks Fanievb, I have taken pressure up to 4 bar, put plenty stands.... some holes have sealed but I have no confidence going to do the W2W with this coming from a brand new tyre... I took them for there first ride yesterday, managed 20km before going through a few bombs to get back... They felt great on the trail, but this cant be good....
  2. Hi guys, I purchased some conti tyres, X king on the back, Mountain king on front.... thinking this is a good set of all round tyres,( ready for W2W) But got the shock of my life when I seen loads of pin holes in side wall of the mountain king..... clearly this has to be a manufactures fault, because my mate bought the same set, but both his have holes or loose pressure.. Has anyone else had this issue and what tryes do you recommend going for....?? Thanks in advance Glen P.S I am riding a 29er hard tail, if this makes a difference to the advice :-)
  3. I didn't have much joy getting what I wanted when I ordered online, there was a mistake on the wed page write up..., But boy did they try to get it sorted for me... Still didn't find what I was looking for but did the refund straight away. I will shop there again with that kind of work ethic,
  4. I registered yesterday, with my boet and friend, The goodie bag is better than the Argus :-) Just got to look forward to the pain of all that climbing :-)
  5. Hi Patrickza I have just done mine.... I got all the tools mentioned above, got to work on it.... The problem I had was "once the allen key bolt was out of the way and I had pulled the arms off, I took the fancy looking tool and took of the piece with all the teeth in it.... the one side was easy, but when I got to the drivechain side, I battled for ages, eventually took it to local shop, it took him 2 mins because it had a longer extension to get the leverage... once done... out comes the BB, but then I got a new one that was 5mm longer, so when putting back together, the blades stuck to far out from derailer... so make sure it is the same as the one that came out.... Hopethis helps a little..
  6. no road that I know of, but there is "The Apple Blossom" at oakvalley on sunday, Then a ride in Durbanville on Saturday, The Cipla Cancer Challenge, it is pricey but for a good cause.... Hope this help...

  12. I have my sealskins and there great, worn them when needed, other than that I save them, at R350 a pop it's not cheap, so take good care, They have a nice soft sock feel around the foot, a plastic membrain, then the outer layer of sock, they come in different lengths and thickness... mine are medium thickness and feel very comfortable in my shoes that are one size bigger than I need.... money well spent, there has been plenty times this winter that my brother is crying from frozen feet....
  13. sounds great.... Im there like a bear
  14. I have a crap computer that said 39.6 km and my polar said 41.3, so I think I went the right way :-) but yes, 755 m ascent.. bang on the same there... glad it wasnt 1252 I have to go get new jockey wheels after that ride..... one is well finished...
  15. Hay guys, Fully enjoyed the ride, and even happier to keep upright :-) I did the 40km, by the time I had finished I could have past for a differnt nationality..hahhhaaha I would like to check what you guys had down for total ascent, my heart rate monitor tells me 800meters, but the map profile tells me 1252 meters, do I need to send my monitor in for a service, or was there that much mud that it blocked the hole and it couldnt give a true reading :-) I will be back next year for another go, :-)

  21. Hi there, yes, it is a very enjoyable ride, Flat but with wind always :-) you start near the civic centre... go down Hertzog Blvd, turn right at the Landrover car sales (Civic Ave) Then at the T-junction turn left, follow this road and you will find the start of the cycle path :-) The bus lane is a reddish colour, the cycle path is to the right of this... Then you can go all the way out to Blouberg, Eden on the bay... great views.... Enjoy
