  1. Much better service from CWC this time. Good job, and thanks Ordered on Sunday and delivered a few mins ago. And the price was good too.
  2. More of a replacement than an upgrade, but they just arrived
  3. A little while back now I entered, made my payment and confirmed online that everything appeared to be in order. However, I didnt receive any notification of such and mailed them to ask if I should expect any. They told me that once my payment was accepted I would get an e-mail confirmation. I waited and checked online again, and as before my payment has been accepted (and gone off my account) and mailed them again; now they just ignore me. This seems like seriously poor organisation for an event that they advertise so widely and claim as being the biggest and best (in JHB anyway). It seems they are great at blowing their own horn, but not actually doing anything for those who pay. I have seen much better organisation from far smaller events, and yes, Im
  4. I just did this the other day. 1st - not all depts will do it. 2nd - Its a little over R100 if I recall 3rd - some places do and some dont take cards, and even those that do sometimes have machine failures.
  5. Thanks, we did chat about some service aspects, comparing hub types, how often they need servicing etc, I cant say Im too worried about spoke costs; and I dont think replacements will be happening too often as I dont ride as much as some, or as hard. Crash costs are covered.
  6. I have been looking at plenty of wheelsets for a while now, and yesterday I spoke to Johan Bornman yesterday who has cleared certain things up for me and was very helpful. But I still have something that is working on my mind. A custom built set costs upward of R4 000 for something pretty basic (but decent), and a little less can get you a Fulcrum Red Metal 3 wheelset (or similar) while a bit more gets you a set of Easton EA90's. So what are the benefits of getting a basic custom built set or an already made set of say Fulcrums? One thing that does get me is the hub issue, on these ready made sets, very little if any description is given for the hub, and when it is I cant find much info.
  7. Cant we send some hubbers from the area to pay him a little visit?
  8. Look around, you can easily pay R1 200 for a BGFit, and >R800 for an ErgoFit
  9. Will try for the 3rd one. Won't make 40km yet.
  10. Do you have some more info perhaps?
  11. For the best peddling experience get rigid carbon shoes too
  12. IMO this is the best way to sum it up: http://www.mbaction.com/Main/News/Mountain_Bike_Wheel_Shootout_26er_275er_29er_Video_5266.aspx
  13. Not all decisions have to make sense. Sometimes its ok to buy stuff just because you like it!
  14. Get your panties in a bunch much? It wasnt a serious question; I thought that was obvious
  15. File Transfer Protocol?
  16. Not sure of the exact model.
  17. Yup, each time replaced free and with a smile, so the service is good, but eish 4 breaks is not good.
  18. Im not sure, but Im going to have to try this afternoon with a very small bit.
  19. Nope, she is really fit and fast, top category rider.
  20. I watched an hour and a half debate yesterday between some of the worlds greatest minds on "does the universe have a purpose".... No, really! Mind blowing stuff.
  21. I work with a lady that has broken 4 chainstays on one of these.
  22. I over tightened the bolt thingie in my Ergon GR2 Standard grip, and snapped the head off I cant get it out using one of those drill in removers because it is too narrow, do you know where I can get just the bar end piece of the grip, or perhaps another way to get the screw out?
  23. I think it's a cool idea, of course the list will change with new releases etc, but it will give people an idea at least.
