I honestly don't know, and there's no way to tell to be honest. could have been my mechanic not bleeding the system when he put the new thermostat in, causing the thing to overheat just a bit too much and then cause it to blow. Could have been there before, but much smaller (sure as fk wasn't overheating when I bought it) so.... Ja I dunno dude. Going back to the dealer now that my mechanic has worked on it would be a bit schnaai, and would start a super finger pointing exercise. I'm gonna get it fixed and see what I can do to recoup some of the expenses. Good news is that even with this, it's still within budget even with worst case. Mate of mine in Ceres is a diesel mechanic and he's got a few connections he can pull in. Still love this thing tho.

Just (yesterday) blew my caddy's head gasket. ???? Cooling system had an air block the size of fkn Africa. Luckily I had a 5l water bottle with me. Was on my way to swellendam for my lighties first camping weekend. Managed to limp back to Silverton rads in SWest where they bled the system and performed a gas test. Blegh.

Thanks, dude. Mic is positioned just next to the rearview mirror, if I remember correctly (will confirm tonight) I've already tested it and the pickup is good. Sub is behind the 2nd row of seats, playing towards the back. It's in a properly made box, which isn't tied down so I can move it when I load the van. I'll set up 2 straps on the side panel (on top of the LH wheel well) for when I need to move it. Spec is as follows: Kenwood KDCX5100BT head unit - 3 pre-amp outputs (opted against double din touchscreen as I don't see me using it tbh) JBL Club 4505 5 ch amp (4x45w & 1x500w) JBL S2 1024 10" sub (250w) JBL Club 6500c splits (6.5" 60w driver - door mounted & 0.75" tweets - above the B pillar for some passenger love) JBL Club 3020 coax (3.5" 20w - dash mounted) Amp is driving the sub, tweets and 6.5" drivers. Head unit is driving the 3.5" coaxes. Haven't turned it up properly yet as they're still "running in". It's going to be properly set up next weekend. All wattages are RMS, of course... Very happy.

Hang in there, Landy! It gets easier, I promise. Besides, an empty house lets you just chill and relax, and concentrate on YOU. Also - don't discount the help of a counsellor / psych. Even though you say you're mentally strong, it bloody well helps. I've only ever seen one twice. Once when I was 'jacked and taken for a 2 hour joyride with a 9mm to my head, and then last year when my dad & this thing came to the fore. I'm pretty level headed and logical, but having someone who is VERY experienced in this sort of thing to bounce things off just helped me order my thoughts faster than I'd have been able to by myself. Friends help, strangers can help even more. Especially when they see it every day.
