  1. yep. It's not even good for the back. Wallows harder than a lazy hippo.
  2. it's difficult, when one is used to eating a certain way or not caring about what you put into your gob... Constant challenge. Carry on, Carpet! Make it your bitch.
  3. A bit of a stomach bug put paid to my goal of reaching 25 hours this month (was at 10.5 last week, stomach bug hit on Tuesday and wouldn't shift) Stress has been high this month, from increased outgoings (divorce is EXPENSIVE) but overall I've been more chilled and content. That's helped curb all those frikkin snack-monsters. Eating has been mostly okay, and I had a lekker little ride on Saturday with some great people to lift my current time on the bike to 12 1/2 hours, and up to 17h15m incl the TM sufferfest. Tonight, I have my boy with me, so time on the bike is not possible. That leaves tomorrow & Wednesday to get my time up... On the weight side of things... I'm 2kg down as of this morning. 103kg. I'll see what I can get to by Wednesday.
  4. EXCELLENT piece. And restecp.
  5. the guide R's (I think that's what you have, right?) are a bit... strange. They don't have the same cam as the RS / RSC / Ultimate, which results in a very linear delivery of power. RS / RSC / Ultimate have a more progressive nature to the power delivery. Having said that - the Hopes I have now are far better ito modulation, IMO.
  6. Agreed, but it's this bold bit that I'm most interested in (ito the salt discussion) It seems as if there isn't a consensus re supplementation. Or, rather, that the consensus may have been based around irregular "studies" much like the saturated fat / lchf / high carb / cholesterol studies that are being revised at the moment. Also depends highly on what you eat.
  7. Honestly, from what I've read, it's purely down to how much salt you're getting through your diet, and how much water you're consuming throughout the day. I don't know enough yet, and I haven't read enough on it to form a firm opinion on it, but if you've been following a "SAD" (standard American Diet) full of processed foods, cakes, pies and so on, and you transition to a diet that concentrates on "whole foods" (as they're called...) then you may need to supplement in order to get to the RDA / body's requirements. If you're drinking more water, it's also flushing some electrolytes out as well. But as I said - I haven't read enough just yet to form a proper opinion on it yet. And certainly don't all of a sudden gorge on 10g salt a day (in addition to the salt on / in your food) Also - if you have an underlying metabolic / heart / cardiovascular condition, do a SHITLOAD of reading on PROPER studies (metastudies preferably, as they collate results and give a far broader picture) and consult a physician.
  8. Nice one! So not as in your face as Hope, but louder than Shimano...
  9. Do yourself a favour and get a moka pot. FAR better than filter, significantly cheaper than an espresso machine.
  10. If you've cut carbs, make sure you're getting enough salt. Without processed **** we need to supplement.
  11. great stuff, landy. Revel in those little moments. Sorry I wasn't able to add much to your questions on Thursday. My fridge arrived the day after, and my mind wasn't exactly settled. AFAIK you shouldn't have to pay any maintenance, and you're just liable for the accrual claim (the amounts that you're paying towards the car etc should be adjusted against that, BTW) But hang in there. This was the first weekend I've had with my little one, and it's been awesome. Chilled, but awesome. Beach, chill time and father / son time in his most important period. Take your dad's advice. It's good advice, but then you were probably raised in his mould so your morals are his morals etc (as much as you may detest this, I dunno your relationship, but it's the same with my late father. It's becoming more apparent as the days go on) Anyway. One day at a time, bud. Vent, see someone (I can recommend Mark Gardener in Kenilworth Mental Health Institute. He helped me IMMENSELY. Pretty good rates, as well) and let people know what you're feeling. It really helps.
  12. Correct. It's a BS benefit, in my opinion. One that I haven't bothered floating to any of my clients, seeing as they're smart enough to avoid CL altogether, anyway...
  13. That view always gets me. But that's not LSD. That's FFwD. Lekker effort, Dale. Need more of that. Getting there slowly.
