  1. Jinne... I saw the H bar, then I saw your comment, and I saw the tape.... JINNE...
  2. New scale bought. 103.9 kg, apparently. Oh well, it's the new baseline I suppose.
  3. Yoh. This DOMS is honestly the worst I've ever experienced. Still can't do stairs (down) without going one at a time and holding on to something.
  4. Excellent route, for sure. But some of those scrambles were beyond my comfort level. Super stoked I got over them, though.
  5. It's official. My legs are toast. :-D This is more DOMS than I've ever had - even after hitting PR's for squats and leg presses. Holy crap... Suffice to say that I was so bloody sore yesterday that my normal Thursday pm Table Mountain ride was out of the question, so unfortunately this week won't see me hitting the 13h mark as I'd planned. I'm at 10 1/2 hours so far on the bike, with 11 days to go until the end of the month. Can I do another 14 1/2 hours on the bike? Not sure, but I'll try as hard as I can. If I include the 4h45 hike in the figures though (it IS exercise, after all) I reach 15h15 exercise for the month to date. Still don't have a scale. Last night's dinner was steak, on the man oven. BLISS.
  6. Like jelly... Tomorrow is going to be the really interesting bit. First step down the stairs this morning. Calf cramps. Einaaaaaa
  7. Bloody hell. Just (1:15 ago) finished a hike on TM. 4:45 Total time up India Venster and down Platteklip. My fitness held us back Ito time and speed, but fark me I'm kaput. Came to terms with my fear of heights in some places; I'm definitely not an accomplished climber. But it was awesome! Legs like jelly. I may not be able to walk tomorrow. Metrics: 4:45 Total time 11.25km 887m climbed 2,345 kcal burnt 149bpm avg Leg muscles cramping: all of them. Tomorrow is going to be interesting
  8. Dude. That's a huge loss. 4.4kg in 2 1/2 weeks!? That's motoring
  9. There's been a heap of investigation as to what actually makes up the weight that we lose. Is it our sweat, or our fat cells screaming, or our pee, poo or other ablutions... The answer, strangely, was that it was actually the volume of CO2 that our bodies process and expel that was the biggest contributing factor. This means that VO2 is a very important measure, as is the relationship between heart rate and our own bodies' efficiency at various rates of exertion. Put simply - you need to eat, drink & breathe in less than you pee, poo & breathe out. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2014/12/141216212047.htm Excerpt: "There is surprising ignorance and confusion about the metabolic process of weight loss," says Professor Andrew Brown, head of the UNSW School of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences. "The correct answer is that most of the mass is breathed out as carbon dioxide. It goes into thin air," says the study's lead author, Ruben Meerman, a physicist and Australian TV science presenter. In their paper, published in the British Medical Journal today, the authors show that losing 10 kilograms of fat requires 29 kilograms of oxygen to be inhaled and that this metabolic process produces 28 kilograms of carbon dioxide and 11 kilograms of water. Mr Meerman became interested in the biochemistry of weight loss through personal experience. "I lost 15 kilograms in 2013 and simply wanted to know where those kilograms were going. After a self-directed, crash course in biochemistry, I stumbled onto this amazing result," he says.
  10. Correct. From my reading of your position (in my uneducated opinion) your OH will have an accrual claim against you. You probably won't need to pay maintenance (alimony) to her as she is a working woman. You will have to pay maintenance for your kids until they finish schooling. I may be wrong, though.
  11. Currently just battery eggs (Humpty Dumpty) but will be changing to FR eggs again. I just prefer the taste, for some reason. Organic is a marketing ploy.
  12. Well done, dude. Dinner last night was a 3 egg omelette with fried onions, chilli salt, black pepper and spring onions. YUMMY. Lots of water being consumed, and plenty trips to the bivvy for the fluids that are coming out. Down to one coffee per day (50ml milk) and then lunch will shortly (as of tomorrow) be changing to roast chicken. Cheapest protein there is, and tasty as well.
