  1. Sorry - mine's a 49mm at the bottom but my head tube is 54mm or so. EDIT: And yeah, they are pretty easy to install. You just have to get the orientation of the bottom cup 100% - it's directional, and if it's off by even a degree it will affect the geometry negatively.
  2. Probably the wrong crown race. Contrary to popular belief, they're NOT all the same. Some of them are chamfered at different angles, and will foul when used with the wrong bearing.
  3. It's not in yet - I need to get a shim built up as it's for a 44mm bottom cup and I have a 54mm bottom cup. But once that's done (I have someone who can do that - also a hubber) we will just get the lbs next to him to use their headset press to press it all in. But as for normal headsets... yes I install my own.
  4. That would definitely make a difference. Especially with the additional 10mm A2C measurement. I still need to play with the angleset...
  5. Just measure at the brake blocks and then the distance between the top of the blocks and the point at the seat stays / chain stays where there would be the least clearance, just to be sure that there is enough clearance for the tyre that you want to put on. On the flex side, would only be a problem if there's SEVERE flex. If your wheels are touching the brake blocks on each rotation of the wheels and stroke of the pedals. I'm assuming that the blocks are quite close to your existing rims, so if they don't bind now, they won't bind with a wider wheel. As long as the wheel isn't as wide as the distance between the blocks at their widest point.

  7. Easy test - take a tape measure, and measure at the top of the fork by where the brake pads sit. If you can't measure 25mm between the brake blocks at full release, they won't fit.
  8. Yeah, from looking at the fork it does seem that way. Lyrik's crown is very flat as well.
  9. That purrrrdy. EDIT: Are those brakes Magura twin pots? EDIT EDIT: They are!
  10. Buy now. Forward pricing practices in the bike industry shaft us with exchange movements.
  11. Probably wasn't selling as much as it could have
  12. 100%. If it proves to be a good fork them you'll probably see it on a very selected top line xtc advanced. At the most.
  13. Who cares? If someone wants to spec a fork that costs 10k more than a SID, with arguably the same characteristics, they can spec it as an upgrade and then still be 50k cheaper than the s works...
  14. I yell you something.... that Marzo on the front of my bike has transformed the bike completely. She's now a completely different animal. And I like it!!! I don't know if it's the slightly slacker head angle (not a lot at all) or the resulting difference in the trail on the front end, or just the fork making the bike feel so planted... but I just feel as if I'm going soooo much faster, and as if it has a whole WHACK more grip.
  15. So basically replacing the old trance! Now there's the Anthem, Anthem SX, Trance, Trance SX, and Reign. Hoping maybe a Reign SX as well!? Then there's the budget one with the new suspension design and pretty good spec for the price.
  16. PYGA. No contest. Even though I'm a fervent Giant fan, the PYGA is the more versatile bike of the 2 for sure. Can be reliably pedalled for days, and thrown down as many technical trails as you want. Slacker head angle and slightly more suspension travel on the PYGA will give him FAR more confidence on the tricky bits.

  18. When the motoGP standings look like this...
  19. That's already happening in MotoGP. Marquez is on FORM! Only person in first place this year
  20. Dude. Please be more careful with your wording... If there weren't a gutter, my mind would be homeless...
  21. Rosberg. Every time. Far more humble, far less gittish.
