  1. Giant over the commencal due to the better suspension design. DW (maestro) vs single pivot. Plus the giant is newer tech and a better frame design. Also has a better parts kit. But - hit enjoi up with a pm and see what his lbs has!
  2. it will be 3.8% harder on the ups than the 2x10 (28t) and you'll effectively lose your top 3 gears if yo'ure on a 3x10. If you're on a 3x10 it's probably better to go 30t at the front.
  3. Nah, man HA - you've still got MANY years ahead of you!
  4. an XX1 on a 34 actually has an almost exact range as a 28/40 11/36 mix - 0.809:1 vs 0.78:1 top & 3.4:1 vs 3.636:1 bottom
  5. hey, I've run home from Tiger at 3am. I know what their tactics are!
  6. No loss in the upper or lower ends, so you're not losing out on gear ratios. I run a 1x10 and I'm a very social (and unfit) rider...
  7. You're kidding me, right? PLease, let it be so...
  8. Ding ding ding! Awesome patch. Didn't know that!
  9. Ah. Then apart from CRC etc, the normal 2x10 bolts will work. They're shorter 'cos the big blade doesn't share a mounting point with the middle ring / granny. So go to your LBS and (depending on the LBS) they should have stock of some. That, or grind your existing ones down to the point that they'll work. That's what I'd do...
  10. What chainset did you have previously? 3x10? 2x10?
  11. HAHAHA!!! I do hope you're joking. If not - yeesh. You have some interesting chains up there in JHB!!!
  12. It's her response to getting into the position to receive her daily diet of fish....
  13. Yeah, this is literally quite special. Oh - and Daniel would have loved the build this weekend. He needs to bring his machete with every time now, 'cos there's LOADS of blackwood and wattle to chop!
  14. Yep. His pitwall team stuffed up ROYALLY there. He didn't see Pedrosa come in (probably thought he went too deep into the corner, and had passed him - Ped was behind Marquaz when he went into the pits) and he wasn't told to BOX until the next lap - which was too late. When he saw Lorenzo going in, he likely thought he had another lap open to him - which was vindicated when his pit team showed him BOX AFTER lorenzo pitted... He broke the rules, and was DQ'd. It's fair, but I reckon someone in his race management team is gonna get BLASTED. In the heat of the moment, you don't know how many laps you've done or not done. You just wanna do as well as you can.
  15. Oh hell yes! I got epic food poisoning there. My error in ordering monkfish!
  16. Haha! Yeah, Vettie, it's not as bad as it could have been. Aggravation of the original injury (torn meniscus) and a few sprained ligaments but it looks as though it won't need surgery. For now. Will carry on reassessing as it recovers. But for the moment, I sick at running! And it's a bit tender after this afternoon on the trail
  17. Thanks Bro! Yeah, we re-did the entry this afternoon just to make it more erosion resistant and to put 2 lines in. One very challenging (drop into a sharp right) and the main line has had its apex moved to make the curve more open and gradual. Lots of rock and dirt moved and it needs watering desperately.
  18. Yeah. Sagrada Familia. Still hasn't been finished after 300 years or so. The amount of detail in the reliefs and porticoes is actually awe inspiring. Was my favourite building in Spain without a doubt. Close second was the block of flats in Barcelona central
  19. That looks like our local product, wheels assembled by The Wizard of Slummies
