  1. Oh - and posting this from my new Galaxy note. Insurance confirmed payout, and I can't be without a phone for the next 5 days - which is how long it'd take them to get a replacement to me... Just opened up a new contract, and I'm gonna use that on my iPad...
  2. That's a good investment strategy though. But to do it on funeral cover and having to THINK about whether to pull the plug or not!? That's fkd up. Oh - If I could insure my dad I would. I know that from a cashflow perspective I'd need it as my mom would come and live with us, and there's no current way to pay off all their debt. But - we're generally prevented from doing that if they're sick. In my dad's case, no insurer would touch him as he's had multiple strokes, a triple bypass and a burst stomach ulcer. All in the past 4 years.
  3. AWESOME. Those trances are really, really under-rated bikes. And with a bigger fork on the front, oooh la lah!
  4. both... confirmed by the rationalisation that came after the purchase...
  5. if you're that kinda guy, yeah. It would be. But that type of thing is commonly known as insurance fraud... And just in case you're wondering, the "yay" was laden with sarcasm. I don't like dealing with short term insurers... BTW - had to can the order of the Note thanks to this. Will have to see if the insurance offers the ability to nominate a different phone of equal value on claim, or if I will have to go the "I've already bought a new phone" route by getting a new contract and switching out the phone. 'Cos I need a phone, like ASAP.
  6. ROFL. Rather get Gap Cover. Difference between med aids isn't enough to warrant the upgrade unless you get a chronic disease that isn't on one of the lower options...
  7. FIXIE for the win! Will improve your cadence, for sure...
  8. Nope. Not true. Only exclusion like that is on disability benefits, where you will have to be involved in criminal (read theft / murder etc) in order to have a denial of payment on disability. Traffic violations do not count. Only when you are drunk behind the wheel do SOME (old) policies deny payment. Life cover - there is only an exclusion on Suicide. And that's within the first 2 years of the policy being in force. Unless you're involved in civil war and / or riots, or go to a warzone. EDIT: But yes. You will leave your family behind, often with FAR less life cover than you should have had, and far more debt than you have life cover. Short answer - don't be a dumbass.
  9. Oh. Plus I will actually be taking written notes on the thing, and using it as a fully operative business tool. Digital signatures and data capture etc. so the pen is useful.
  10. Yeah. Indeed. But the big screen likes me. Oh. And my decision kinda got vindicated when my iPhone got stolen this afternoon. Phoneless now. Insurance call tomorrow! Yay!
  11. Exactly like that. That sorta trail behaviour SHREDS the trails. Especially in places with no tree / bush cover where the slightest rut causes immense damage due to rain. But that's inescapable, I'm afraid. Always have muppets who behave like that.
  12. Plus - loads of attention after the rain. And during summer. 'Cos people drag brakes around corners. That's why we're doing rock bases pretty much everywhere now. It's one of the only ways to safeguard against the back brake heroes coming around the corners.
  13. Stone-impregnated clay, rock lining and lots of water channels. French drains at high traffic areas and trails that don't go straight down the fall line!
  14. I am the definition of chubby fingers... But yeah. I get ya. Looking forward to taking delivery of the thing!
  15. LOL. Yeah, they do. This one just has a little pen thingie...
  16. I even went with the WHITE option! I must be racist. Full of white guilt and privilege, I am.
  17. sweet. Just messaged him. But I've already pulled the proverbial trigger on the thing. And it's a note...
  18. That's my thinking as well. My wife's taking the iPad, 'cos her photography is burgeoning and it is just UBER useful there (show preview pics, preview what a canvas would look lke on a wall in a house etc) and for business, the note makes more sense than having the iPad and iPhone as a dual device solution. Plus - I've realised that getting the iPhone was, for me, the wrong decision. Just as well that my payment term on the old HTC I had stolen has now come to an end, so the FNB offer is open to me again...
  19. http://preview.turbosquid.com/Preview/2013/10/06__08_05_40/sgnote3w_02.jpg35f3f606-019e-4cfd-9122-fdc93cafb4cdLarge.jpg To replace my iPhone, which I am selling. Yes. You heard me...
