  1. Sorry Baron, wrong again. Scott phased their dozers out completely. NiƱo didn't want to change to niner cos he didn't like it. So they were in a way forced to amend the bike into a custom build, and fit him into their marketing strategy (big wheels are better) - taking him away from the sixer. Scott no longer make a 26" spark or scale. Point remains that he doesn't win because he's on a 650, and he didn't really have the option to stay on 26 as it was no longer available.
  2. Oi'! Take it easy on the cripple. I brought the beer after all.
  3. If it's a reported problem and SRAM are admitting a fix to replace it should be a warranty issue. Take it up with whomever you bought it from.
  4. Yo dude. How much else was done after I left?
  5. Oh btw - on car tires, the first number (195/205/225 whatever) refers to the width of the tire. The second number (35/45/55/65) refers to the sidewall height, and it is expressed as a percentage of the tire's width. So a 200/55 tire would be 200mm wide and 110mm tall at the sidewall (200mm x 55%)
  6. It's the same as car tires. Generally refers to the width of the tire itself, although much like different clothing manufacturers measure waist circumference differently, different tyre manufacturers have different ways of measuring width - either the external width of the casing, the width of the tread on the tire or the internal width of the casing. Which is why a schwalbe 2.35 is often the same "size" as a maxxis 2.5, although lately they seem to be following the same conventions in sizing. Mostly.
  7. Hmm. Seems a good, but then I'm not sure of the current pricing on new bikes. Also check out the Scott spark and the giant anthem. Momsen would also be a good bet.
  8. The fork is a very good one. Reba solo air is among the best. Far better than the fox offerings in the same segment. As for the rest - it's a great mix. All depends on the price at the end of the day though. And yes. Wheels would be the first to go.
  9. Sweet. Just don't do a Ritchey and undercut the lbs's. If they're the same price as the lbs sells them at and then shipping on top of that I reckon you'll have a good proposition.
  10. To the OP though. If you're 15, how tall are you? I ask because you don't want to upgrade and then all of a sudden grow 5 inches and then be stuck with a bike that is both too small for you and then have to upgrade again. If I were in your position, I'd keep what I had at the moment and concentrate in growing my skillset and technical ability, not to mention strength and cardio ability. The sixer will help you with that, due to the following reasons: Niners DO allow you to take slightly more speed in certain sections without you relying on skill to get through. The sixer will "force" you to improve your technical skills, which will stand you in very good stead when you do eventually make the move across to a "better" bike. They roll better on the straight and narrow stuff, but this can be sorted by different tires for the sixer and then increasing your strength on the bike. Again, you will be forced to get stronger, and if you're already winning races then you have a great base to build on. Personally if you're winning already, and are 15 y/o then I'd stay on the 26 and concentrate on improving your fitness, skill and power. The jump to a new bike may help you initially to better times but it won't do anything to help you increase your skills or fitness. Which is what you need at this stage.
  11. Baron, that's the biggest load of shaite I've heard in a while. The reason Schurter is so good is because HE IS SO GOOD. His technical skills are amazing, he is strong, powerful and the fittest of the lot. To say that he wins because he is on 650 and the only way the others will be able to catch him is by switching from niner or sixer to 650 is completely irrational, not to mention blatantly untrue. You've been sucked in HARD by the marketing material, dude. And next time you post a gem like that, just think about it for a second. It's like saying Kallis has a better batting average than Tsotobe because he has a different manufacturers bat and bigger shoes.
  12. Yep. We build come Pain of Shine. Heh. Sorry Deon. Just leaked how u got ur nick.
  13. Doing some final shaping on Mamba with a few interesting additions. Matt - awesome to see you coming along as well!
  14. Yeah, it is an extremely good story. Sad how it ended up though - eating the wrong berry, so easily mistaken for one that is edible.
  15. Wait, a business in your block has a receptionist named Lyle? Did she have rather large hands and a protruding lump in her throat?
  16. Yep. Even within the same brand, compatibility is not guaranteed.
  17. HAHAH!!! You may get blood on the seats, so she has to take compensation!
  18. Looks like you're carrying a good selection of the range! ITO online orders - why can we not order direct from you, at the RRP so that the LBS's aren't cut out of the action? I think that's what Skylark was alluding to...
