  1. Lol... All this "alarm" was due to the following: Bad information (very bad) from the OP. Overt threats from the OP (which were deleted from the thread altogether) Direct and wilful obfuscation of the details of the case, when there was every possibility that there were other hubbers that could have been affected It now comes to light that the OP was grossly misinformed as to the state of the "case" and there was in fact no arrest. There also seems to be no wrongdoing on the part of the victim of the original misinformation (macdaddy) apart from potentially some naivety when selling by proxy. As for the handbag singing, that was all directed at the op. And edit: big up to Macdaddy for coming on here to clear it up...
  2. Lol. Cool. Just also, onitor it closely though. If it seems as if it's staying up for a bit longer than usual, and you can't get it to reduce as fast as normal, go see a doc.
  3. Those were the days... Met Ziebie, Swart Kat en Wielie Walie. Ook Toktokkie. Moet nie dit vergeet nie
  4. Well, yes n no. The highr you will be able to push yourself. Generally though, your ability to recover will improve, but better fitness results in a better performing heart, so yeah, you may have been held back by your lack of fitness, previously
  5. Dude, of course it can... But heck. Just another day. WWJD? What Would jChuckNorris Do? Lol. Anyway. I just wanna know who this person is so I can avoid at all costs. May be my money that's thrown away next time I buy something.
  6. ROFL. I only buy from people who have a love for pies. And fat chics.
  7. nope. Max HR (the one where you take your age off of 210 or something) is just a guideline for those who are new to the sport. Your increased fitness will also enable your heart to beat more efficiently, and freely. Means you can hit higher HRs more easily and stay there fr longer, as well as recover from those high HR efforts faster. EG: My wife's max HR is on / around the 210 mark. She's Definitely not that young...
  8. He's already made overt threats to one of the members who has posted on this thread, so tjop he shall remain.
  9. And seriously, Naas, stop being a tjop and just give us the bloody name.
  10. Guess I'm screwed then... Jees. Just name the guy already. I've sold one item on the Hub, namely my old road bike, to a guy who had 10 posts. Met him and he paid the cash (eft). I dropped the bike off the next day. I've also bought from The V. No problems. None at all. So if I have the potential of buying STOLEN GOODS, I want to damn well know who that person is, especially if he has been confirmed as arrested for being IN POSSESSION of stolen goods!
  11. How are we, as hubbers, supposed to know if an object is stolen if it is priced at the right price and there is no indication that it is of dubious origin? I mean, a reverb selling for 250 would be a dead giveaway, but at 1k it's a well looked after 2nd hand item... Name and shame dude... At least then we'll know who not to buy from
  12. Ja, they are - but they're pretty much exactly the same as the SLX brakes, save for a few grams difference. The rotors, however... oooooooh....
  13. Partly Wrong... Internals of the sid and the reba are the same. Only difference between the 2 models is the weight, and then the difference isn't that great. I would actually say that the Reba is the better fork for the majority of riders as the extra weight lends it extra stiffness over the sid. Yes, the sid is favoured by racers but that's due to the 100g or so weight savings over the Reba. In fact, I'd prefer to have the Reba as it is a truly "do it all" fork. As for the slx gruppo, that's absolute hogwash. Slx kit is fantastic, and more than sufficient for the job. In fact, slx in some cases is preferable over xt, and last years slx crank was actually stiffer than the xt one... In terms of difference to xt, yes there is a slight weight difference but that is insignificant. It's certainly not worth the extra 3k. My advice is to pocket the difference and instead get something else like an hr monitor or snazzy helmet or new kit.
  14. Hey mopkop, the storms are all the same frame (unless the 1 is carbon) so getting 2's components on 1's frame would be kinda silly..
  15. as a hack job, and to avoid buying the tool that JB has suggested, try inserting the pedal from the other side of the crank and screw it all the way in. That may enable the thread to be reformed. As it's only the initial mm or so, it should be alright, as long as it's ONLY that section that's miffed. Also - afaik the left side thread is the "normal" one - if the pedal's thread is slightly too short, then you can try to source a bolt that is the same size as the pedal's thread, but just a bit longer. Then do what I said above...
  16. Dude... just... dude... what an inspiration. No excuses. HTFU personified.
  17. Nah. Can just get him an old Scalpel. That doesn't qualify as an FS machine due to the lack of a pivot.
