  1. It were. Said PYGA DEMO on the side. Brushed alu. Was hawt. Can only think it was a test. But without a helmet, what were they testing, hmmmmmmmm?
  2. In Tokai... he was just missioning around (wiffout a helmut) on the main fire road hill next to DH3. I think he was checkin out the work being done. Dunno who it was.
  3. Lol - for sure! Radio buttons vs tick boxes... That's the difference!
  4. Saw the PYGA on the mountain yesterday, while we were building... very sweet looking bike.
  5. Absolutely. 29ers aren't the solution to global warming. They're just another bike. One that has its own idiosyncracies, and that some people will prefer over a 26er. Doesn't make one better or worse. Having said that, the 9er is scientifically superior if you're looking to traverse obstacles, roots or rocks. Or roll more easily, in other words. Irrefutable fact. Unless your name is Aladdin, that is
  6. Erm, Matt, have a look at the poll concerned... Definitely a case of multiple personality disorder... Yes, it's acceptable. No, it's not. Erm - you're both wrong. I dunno!
  7. So someone has a multiple personality disorder then... No I don't! Who was talking to you? GAH!
  8. yeah. But for good reason, now. Kinda like the "turbo revolution" that we're seeing in cars now. Low capacity high efficiency turbo motors that are replacing the standard, naturally aspirated motors in the majority of cars coming out. It's a natural progression, but still viewed with supreme skepticism, and is not ideal for every application quite yet, due to design restrictions and so on.
  9. Maybe an anonymous member has voted as well?
  10. Cool.. just saw you had shown 2 bikes that might have looked a bit similar to the casual glance... And damn, can't find anything about it on the webs, apart from those 2 links and some Bikerumour stuff... When is it coming>?
  11. Based on what? And what tires were they running, what pressures, how were they riding etc? If they were comparing cornering characteristics based on the same tires, and not Crossmark 29er vs Mountain king 26er ir something, and were riding properly, then yeah. Maybe. But as for now? Completely untrue. EDIT: As long as they have the geometry right, which some providers just don't.
  12. Double-D, my man, have another look at those 2 bikes there. Giant is nothing like the Spez. The dynamics of frame manufacture will dictate that all bikes have similarities in design. Front triangle, rear triangle. Add 29er to the mix, and in order to get a low standover height together with longer travel, you will have those same lines on pretty much any FS 29er. Also, the rear triangles are totally different. Giant has elected to have the shock mounted to an extension of the swingarm, whereas Spez have latched it onto the middle (well, almost) section of a linkage bar. What I find most interesting is that Giant have done away with the MAESTRO suspension design for their Trance 29er... intriguing...
  13. that myth has been de-bunked by pretty much anyone who has ridden a modern-day 29er, and is continually used even despite said debunking (also by people who just see a report and carry on quoting it as gospel, not taking into consideration any subsequent reports) Yes, there were issues previously, but that was mainly down to either poor design, or the testers riding the bikes like they were riding their 26ers, and therefore not adapting to the new style of riding that a 29er needs...
  14. heh! Quick, squirrel! Get it before winter sets in! Better start saving them coppers!
  15. There was a guy who asked about a BB, and said it was off when we asked if one of us could phone it... He has no idea where he lost it. This was yesterday at about 10/10h30 or so. I don't know the exact time. It was hot, and we were working our asses off on that trail...
  16. If you consider it together with teh original text, not really... ;P
  17. Is this some sort of new quasi-sexual supporter strategy that you're trying out?
  18. SWEET! From the description I got, it sounded as if it was a stair-way to cloud nine... Shibby! And 2 corners? Pfft. This is about speed.
  19. I hear there's now a new giga-kicker on the lower part of DH3, just after the big water-bar (past where the log bridge thing used to be) And I hear it's being described as a water-bar?
  20. Comes with a fork that can be set to 120mm but is set up as 100 out the box.
  21. I presume you mean rear wheel travel rather than front? Front is easily rectifiable by adjusting the fork. And I know what you mean. But a thing to remember, the average trail rider over in the UK is used to 140mm plus travel bikes, and, even though the 9'er is more forgiving on the big stuff than the equivalent 6'er, a 40mm drop in suspension travel is going t be missed. Also - average rider here is looking for an XC machine, and the TB is perfect in that respect. And look what he's comparing it to - hardly a trail monster, that scott!
