  1. I was trying to figure that out as well. C-H User interface Error, I think...
  2. ROFL! I can identify with that! Plus, I'd probably shock myself while checking to see if the damn thing's on!
  3. Lolz! Should have clarified.... @Mayhem and manchillz. Thanks I found some info on the net. Seems I need the WC solo air spring and air top cap.Cool. Go for it, if you REALLY wanna change it to the WC / RACE version I managed to find part numbers for them, is it something I can get from SA supplier? Get it shipped in. Local suppliers = ballache to get this through, and will cost the earth With regards to the fork stantion, apparently if you swop the right to the left, then there shouldnt be problems with damage from the spring? What do you think? Sounds cool. Just research it properly first, mate. Don't want to be faced with a marshmallow vs nun's tunnel situation, ya dig? Also found a full conversion kit, retail for 100euro, made by Protone from Italy. Anyone heard of it before? Nope. Anyone seen the Elka Stage 4 pressurized fork cartridge before? Coming from Motocross, it sounds so cool! Yeah, does sound cool! Looks as if it might be tuned for high performance conditions. Just make sure it suits your style of riding though! Would like to speak to someone who has had it done or ridden one.
  4. And the pics (so far) fork to be finished tomorrow, along with rear swingarm. Then I put the clearcoat on! Whoopee! And yes, that is the inside of the spare bathroom. It's now set up as my impromptu spraybooth. Gets a bit heady in there though, 'cos I have to keep the window closed until I've stopped spraying due to the wind Suffice to say - my wife flipped. Frame (see how she glitters!) Fork Fail:
  5. How the hell will good angle-grinding skills help me weld!? Unless I just grind them back down to look pretty again?
  6. CAP! wtf are your hands doing!? That's right, mate! You're braking! In a berm! That's likened to drinking pink drinks, mate!
  7. Mate, in answers to your questions: No, no, no! Source it internationally, bro. MUUUUUCH cheaper. And it gets here quickly!
  8. Pictures coming!!! Wait a second!!! Been working my ass off, getting quotes & admin done. Spray took up more time than expected, and I've got shedloads to do...
  9. Ja... the thing is, I can't weld for ****! I'm pretty sure it'd only take me a few attempts to get it right, but the last time I tried I was 13 years old and it was part of my school curriculum!
  10. First coat of colour went on the frame this evening. Looks darker than originally thought, but that's not a bad thing! Had a bit of a fail on the fork lowers though. A bit of moisture got in and RUINED the existing primer application, so I'm going to have to sand that back down again and start over on some areas of the fork. Pissed. And I'm out of primer. Double pissed! Anyway. 2nd coat to go on tonight, and then a light light light sand tomorrow afternoon before the clearcoat goes on. Still need to finish stripping the swingarm though. That's been on the backburner due to work commitments (ie: I gotta make myself some money!) I hope to be totally done by the weekend. I'm home most of tomorrow anyway (working from home 'cos the SAPO don't know how to confirm a delivery time for the packages) so will get most of that done then. Other than that, it's all go!

  12. Awesome, bro! Can't wait until my FS is built up and ready to rip!
  13. I sneakily left that bit out... Would have liked to have seen a blow-by-blow of that conversion!
  14. SAPO FAIL. What on earth are there telephone numbers on delivery notes for, if NOT to phone your client when you are at his door and there is no answer!? FFS! Now I'm going to have to wait until tomorrow before I get my grubby little paws on my merchandise! Oh. In other news, the first coat of colour is going on today. YAY!
  15. Yes, you can. Google is your friend. go forth and search!
  16. So right, Eldron! I'm a 6er devotee at the moment, purely because I don't see the need to migrate to something different purely because everyone else says it's fantastic. Plus, it works for me! And I love my bike. Pure & simple. The amount of training I could do to improve my riding (read fitness levels) would GROSSLY outweigh any potential advantage I could gain through moving to a lighter bike.
  17. LOL! The pulling away with ease bit is thanks to your extra training, not the bigger wheels.
  18. That probably would have been due to the use of the same casette/chainring combo (or the ratio between them was the same) as on your 6'er.
  19. Glad to see somebody has a bit of sense... anyway - if gearing were the same (ito sprocket size on cassette & chainring) across the 6'er & 9'er, then for a given speed the 9'er rider's cadence would be less than the 6'ers. Power output, at that speed, would be the same (all things being equal) BUT - and this is the big one - EFFICIENCY on the 6er could be seen as higher, due to the higher rate of cadence and the lesser load on each pedal stroke to achieve the same speed as the 9er. Same power output at the speed, but less needed on each pedal stroke.
  20. I have to say, that was fun to watch. There was (more than a moment) of self-castigation, but then it passed like yesterday's kidney stone.
  21. Lime? Me? Dude - I can't be without my power tools... If you think I'm bad, you should see my grandfather's workshop. I could work in there for all of time and not want for a thing (okay, maybe a beer every now and again, brought to me by the wife) He is seriously kitted out. Li-Ion everything (drill, jigsaw, screwdriver, mouse sander) old (proper) Ryobi radial arm saw, 300mm planer/thicknesser, 300mm jointer, any kind of spoke-shave you could think of, 500mm band-saw, any kind of plane you could think of, normal circular saw, whole wall full of gedore and stahlwille spanners & screwdrivers... the list goes on. He literally made every piece of furniture in my parents' house, except 2. One of those 2 is mine, the other is my dad's. And I'm the only one in the family that hasn't placed orders (read - demands for furniture) with him, and has shown an interest in carrying on with the legacy. Suffice to say, those tools have pretty much been earmarked for me, by him. And he told me.
  22. Shot bro! Paint is going on this afternoon. Had a bit of a whoopsie with last night's primer coat, so I couldn't continue as planned.
