  1. *may have passed the cyclist. Yes, he should be checking, but that's also why I would like blind spot cams on these big rigs. There's an amazing amount of dead space that the drivers literally cannot see. I'm not absolving the driver, I feel sorry for him as it may have been avoidable with teh proper equipment assisting him.
  2. Every time I see a mak, I get a chubby. There's just something about them that gets me on my grrrr. Even though they're short, and heavy, and beautiful. It's SUCH a pity they're no longer around. PYGA, MAKE A DH BIKE! But then, it won't sell.
  3. what med aid are you on? If it's done in hospital, the only part you'll have to cover yourself is the gap between what the specialists charge and what your med aid covers (that 100% / 200% stuff) as well as a deductible / co-payment if your plan stipulates it. The hospital account (bed and breakfast, essentially) will be fully covered by the med aid, minus any co-payment or deductible, if there is one.
  4. to answer that... It depends. Mine were not so lekker for about 2 weeks after. Any sort of "repetitive motion" had me in pain for a while afterwards. Also - the period that needs to elapse before it's "safe" to have no other barrier in place is ~6-18 months, depending on how "sticky" your sperm are. There's a spoeg-wallet that continually gets fed by the ballas, and even with the conveyor belt switched off, the (the sperm in the sac) can have a life of up to 18 months. That's why it's important to get test(i)ed before you remove the wrapper.
  5. To be fair to the driver, there's no way he could have seen the guy on his bike. I reckon blind spot cameras should be standard fitment on trucks, to cater for instances like this and for pedestrian & other motorists' safety.
  6. Yep. As Piston said above, med aid and gap cover will ensure great coverage. I had mine done on a basic hospital plan with gap cover. Not one cent to be covered on my side. And yes. 10-15k is the ballpark figure. Much cheaper than having g another kid!
  7. yeah, I don't think that'll be a problem, 'cos as far as I'm aware the Trek Fuels were fun bikes and they also had the floating pivot. I think the deadness was more a combination of the pivot placement (suspension characteristics) and the shock that was on there. I know that when I changed just the air can on my reign, it was a revelation. Then went to coil CCDB and it was even more of a revelation.
  8. VITUS are CRC's own brand. They're lekker bikes, by the reviews and looks of things, especially for the price!
  9. After that period of stupidity, I'm back down to 97.9kg as of this morning.
  10. I like that, re the VEGANZ thing and the declaration of how much of each resource it's taking etc.
  11. Reminds me of that one apartment block in the newer Judge Dredd film.
  12. Short answer: No, it's not. Long answer: Looks like one of those Airstream jobs, going by the curved rear glass and elongated porthole windows above the sink
  13. No, not just you. ???? I'm not sure if I'll be able to tell what difference each of the 2 changes makes on their own, to be honest. If I did one step at a time, yeah, then I'd be comfortable with saying I'd be able to tell what each change (Alu to carbon; 35mm to 28mm) makes. But that would be reeeeeally expensive. But both together? Nope. Will still be interesting, though!
  14. Dude, you hit the nail on the head. Every. Single. Time. I overthink things on the bike, end up going too slowly or too far back for something and then bonk out 'cos I'm not comfortable. Almost every drop, and most jumps. Slowly but surely getting to grips with it, but the lack of fitness doesn't help. 4 weeks ago (my previous last TM ride) was bloody fantastic. Was letting go more, just letting it flow and trusting my bike to handle it more than I was before. Then the sickness hit, and those "lost" 4 weeks took a toll.
  15. This. I'm not gonna deny it either. I like data. I also like analysis and comparative studies. It's kinda my thing and I do it every day for work as well.
  16. Truth is, they're applicable to ANY frame. It's just the #marketing and those who think that it HAS to come with their SBG whatever giddyup nonsense.
  17. Dude, don't tell anyone but I just went down 20% in terms of rim width. 20%! 35mm to 28mm.
  18. exactly the same as how you did it, but remove everything after the alpha-numeric text bit of the link. 2nd one is what you should see. I've shortened it to insm just so that it doesn't pick up as an instagram post
  19. Change your lights to LED, bro. It saves a ridonculous amount of electrickery. You may also benefit from motion sensor activated lighting in the areas which don't get visited much, but the kids keep the lights on in.
