  2. girlfriend just did Berg & Bush on her new 650b full sus Jamis, she's only had it for 2-3 weeks and is loving it. she is finding the hills and flats easier and the Kenda Nevegal that it came with weren't too bad in the mud. Still on her way back, so i'll get the full report later. Edit: she was on a 26" HT Jamis
  3. Looking forward to the next one! Got some big shoes to fill after the awesome routes at VG
  4. haha yeah i did see that, had a good laugh when i saw it, totally agreed!!
  5. Have a look at this one Ross http://app.strava.com/rides/19013873 at the 18km mark is where we turned Left and headed towards the satellite section on Saturday. This ride included the Big U as well as Oom Piets (van Gaalens 5) at the 10.6km Mark, you can also turn right(after the concrete) ---- http://app.strava.com/rides/22038083 This one shows the river section from about 36km's. At about the 17km mark on this one, we didn't cross the river and went around instead, which goes through a farm to the tar road, then you turn back onto the district road (23km mark). in the race, we came up that district road and turned right. VG Nissan on Saturday: http://app.strava.com/rides/25547546 amusing that none of our VG rides included that section after the church we did... must be a valid reason for that
  6. www.photomarx.co.za was sitting on the other side of the floating bridge on the 70. takes them a few days to upload. Couple photos by ZC Marketing Consulting https://www.facebook.com/ZCMarketingConsulting
  7. Just downloaded the 2 videos this morning. seems a few of us are missing the mountains... 2 Videos from BigShotMedia: http://www.youtube.com/user/bigshotmediasa 04-06 Oct 2013!!
  8. What an awesome race!! 70 was a real toughie with a serious sense of humor failure when we turned left after the church. Big ups to Eric, Tim and Fritz for definitely the best route by far this year!!! Cramping started just before the church, made the last stretch more challenging. Great to catch up with everyone afterwards over some SpikerBombs and beers. 3h52 wasn't too bad all things considering.
  9. Got my shirt and 2 others when i was there this morning
  10. They said this to me when i first picked up a board, suppose it's just to make sure it works... Haven't rescanned it since doing the first one.
  11. no Spike, just a lot of stuff to clean and refresh yourself
  12. Awesome weekend and a great first multiday event! Some of those little bumps that never seemed to end were well rewarded by good break-testing descents! towing up some of those bumps definitely made the legs burn a little, especially Day 2! with the occasional "don't peddle so fast, i can't keep up" Poor show of the people that did drop their rubbish on the ground! there was quite a lot! and you could almost count on there being bottles lying on the floor at the end of some of those descents. Big ups to the water tables might have had one or two too many bar ones on the odd occasion... But what an awesome area to ride in!!! Most definitely going back. Results are up: http://www.mankele.c..._CH_Results.pdf

  15. Hepburn - Stewart ... BurntStew... head wasn't sore, so the carbo session was good
  16. In for the Challenge, Team: BurntStew, myself and niccijs
  17. Lies!!! I've seen you in the secret training camp! (while walking past that is... there's no secret training happening this side)
  18. Have the same problem with my Megane 250. Center xhaust means no towbar, doesn't have rails on the body for a roof rack (glass roof might have something to do with that as well.) Went to Thule in Woodmean and tried a few options, the Raceway 9002 (i think) fitted but did get a little close to the rear wing. We tried the 3 bike as they didn't have the 2 bike option in country yet. They do look the part though. Haven't tried fitting a Saris yet. Also not keen on the straps eventually twisting up the ends of the boot lid. So the bike stays in the boot on a sheet with the seats down.
  19. Was quite interesting that from position 100 to 142 (2h58) where i finished was only 6 minutes... Should've peddled harder *mumble*
  20. Results are here: http://cyclesport.co.za/results
  21. Thoroughly enjoyed this race, even though the knee didn't want to play along that well. well organised and marked, the guy in front of me did carry on straight when we went left under the road, think around the 30km mark more or less. Only my 3rd race, was dropped into A batch, man was it chilly standing at the start line! Was awesome putting faces to names afterwards though!
  22. First Monster done and dusted! actually only my 2nd MTB race! am pretty chuffed with the 4h23! Well organised event and a tough and trying route at times. Results are here: http://www.spectrumsport.co.za/Portals/17/ResultDoc/Magalies_Monster_MTB_20120526.pdf
