  1. Your Mrs gonna love riding "Sweaty Betty"...
  2. Okay, googled... Nope don't think I've had that.
  3. Started cycling last year, so it was my first 94.7, on a borrowed Schauff road bike, 2 sizes too big (58) Was originally seeded in QQ (having no roadie seeding), which i wasn't happy with. As I only race mtb's, I took my results (SASeeding, Monster, Rooiberg) to registration, where the lady bumped me up to I. Much happier! There was an awesome group of 5 or 6 of us that put the hammer down, finished 2nd in batch in 2h47. Hopefully there is a strong group in D this year to do the same. Almost got my fingers on the Bar One... Sorry to the dood on the KTM, will keep arms and fingers inside the moving vehicle in future.
  4. He chickened out, the Cruz is too cool for slicks...
  5. D Batch for me this year, up from I last year.

  7. hey you can't moan about not having the GoPro's on you when you decide to crash into Kerry BEHIND me... Will see what I can do this evening with some of the footage. At least we all got to see Nicci fall over on the blue pipe in the evening when i gave my footage to the guys doing the video.... although she wasn't happy What an awesome event again, Nicci got some Strava medals, and me some PR's pushing her up some of the climbs. Hooking up with Gords, Kerry, Duncan for most of day 3 was loads of fun. Gords must just learn to crash INFRONT of the GoPro, not behind!
  8. usually go via pta, but that also means an extra toll, going via the east is only 5km shorter. think the pta route is a better hiway
  9. also probably leaving around 10, GF wants to go ride her horse first in the morning, while i pack BumbleBee
  10. https://maps.google.co.za/maps?saddr=WF+Nkomo+St&daddr=Middel+Rd&hl=en&sll=-25.779025,28.008099&sspn=0.061754,0.111494&geocode=Feyndv4datOqAQ%3BFf6wdv4d6VerAQ&t=h&mra=me&mrsp=0,1&sz=14&z=14 A is the big 4 way stop. B is where we parked last year.

  13. might be of some use: http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/article/training-how-to-ride-on-rollers-28631/ it'll probably take quite a while before you can stand, still haven't managed it. i've found the bike is a lot more stable the closer you hold near the stem. slight movements when you're holding out wide tends to make you wobble a lot easier.
  14. ja ja ... I'll get to it... Don't have a decent connection to upload from this client... I'll put the blame on a slipping freebody during the enthusiastic overtake...
  15. Seems like it might be opening after the event. www.facebook.com/HakahanaTrails Looks awesome from the air, sad to be missing it.
  16. A speed trap at the bottom of the church descent would be more fun *adds another category to try win* Beer available at the last tech water point to make you forget about jou bliksem, and increase chances of winning category in point 1. HR check, if it's not high enough, send you back down to try harder?
  17. yeah, don't try to ride that concrete climb, jump off walk up, watch the slope go to 26% and make sure you have something wacky to say to the camera man stalking/waiting at the top, while waiting for your sense of humor to catch up... that paved decent next to the wall.... mmm... make sure your brakes work before hand, if i remember correctly there is quite a corner at the bottom of it. Thoroughly enjoyed it last year Unfortunately missing it this year coz of Towers.
  18. Man VG doesn't disappoint!! Marathon was a toughie.
