Hi Guys, please help me with this one, I bought a entry level MTB, Scott aspect frame with 8 speed Accera groupset 2 years ago, since then bug has bitten me and want to upgrade the groupset now, My options are: Front Derailer : SRAM X 7 VS Shimano SLX 10 speed Rear Derailer : SRAM X 9 10 speed VS Shimano SLX 10 speed Crank : SRAM x1000 44-33-22 VS Shimano SLX 42-32-24 Should I just stick to Shimano and go the SLX route the price difference is about 2k more expensive for the Shimano? please give your views and reasons, I am still a very average rider and mostly like to do trail riding with the odd road race and Argus and obviously the karoo2coast tipe of races

Hey danger dassie, since you riding the A10 you are the perfect person to speak to what other brands have you ridden and how do they compare?

i've been looking at the A10 A20 29er and trying to find some detail on the net, but I'm not finding allot, its got a weird kink that is sort off trowing me off, anybody ridden one of them?

exact same error, hr goes 225 for a while, normally in the beginning of the ride so i just reset it, but need to take it back to check it out, bought mine in Dec

was the issue not too many people arriving at the same place at the same time rather then a skill problem? I remember doing a race and everyone had to get off at a rocky patch because one dude fell and created that bottle neck, if there weren't so many people one could have slipped passed easily, I think organizers should take this sort of thing into consideration. Its almost like the Argus, can we not create a system like the comrades or two Oceans where one has to qualify to do certain races?

I also agree on buying a new bike, as he one can easily buy a cat in the bag, what I am saying is go out and test all the 6k bike s you can find and take the one that you feel comfortable on

I agree with you on the 29er issue but disagree on buying a very entry level "branded" bike, I made that mistake and upgrading is always allot more expensive then buying right the first time. My suggestion is go and ride a couple of bikes in the 6k market and buy one that you feel comfortable on, I have friends thats got no name brand 29ers and I average a better pace on them as on my 26 entry level bike

why would you want to run strobe in the cycle lane, not like there will be cars coming from the front hitting you? run a medium beam, you run a strobe when you on the back roads!

my 4 year old daughter will take it on as well, still riding with training wheels though, she doesn't get as much chance as dad to be on the bike unfortunately
